So, yes, Donald Trump is right that Obamacare had been sabotaged, in a way that would virtually guarantee at least some level of crisis by 2017. Where he’s sadly, paranoiacly wrong is in attributing that sabotage to President Obama.

Democrats should have been screaming bloody murder for the past 2 years. Maybe they can start now, every time a reporter or Republican says, “Obamacare is failing…”

I remember when this slid through. It's made great political theatre and to be honest it's an impressive play by the Republicans.

The major downside is that now they have an impending crisis on their hands that they will have to fix.

Rd 1 shows they can't come together as republicans. Will this mean a more moderate overhaul for rd2 or just small steps to fix the impending crisis?

Help the people at all costs or angle for sweeping legislation they can attach their name and political future to.

Bannon confronted members of the House Freedom Caucus earlier this week during the White House's push for the American Health Care Act, Axios's Mike Allen reported Saturday in his newsletter.

"Guys, look. This is not a discussion. This is not a debate. You have no choice but to vote for this bill,” Bannon reportedly said.

A Freedom Caucus member reportedly replied: “You know, the last time someone ordered me to something, I was 18 years old. And it was my daddy. And I didn't listen to him, either."
The conservative group met with President Trump at the White House on Thursday, but the president reportedly did not want to discuss policy specifics of the healthcare legislation.

Report: Bannon told conservatives 'this is not a debate,' you have to back bill

This is why some been saying that the bill not passing was lowkey a W

Now they can sabotage to their hearts desire and ride that into next year. They know dems are terrible at messaging

Dems should get their own version of Sean Hannity

although clearly an L, it is best for Trump that this happened.

Trumpcare would have resulted in 10+ million (many of whom would have voted for him) losing their health care. poor Trump voters wouldn't know what hit em until they see the lethal repercussions. that would have been the worst thing for Trump's chances of re-election.

now it's played out in a way where he could claim he "tried" everything possible to do what he promised, but because of (democrats/house freedom caucus/ryan/etc...etc..) - it didn't happen. and so everyone keeps Obamacare and end up doing better because of it (and let's face it, majority of Trump voters are personally MUCH better off with this).

Trump is best off to just leave health care alone from now on.

Single payer isn't an option with the current republican tax reform plan. Democrats and suggest and campaign for it, but it would go down as a false promise. It's a tough spot really, but they should engage the discussion and have a realistic alternative or some talking points.

Of course it isn't going to go through this Congress.

Its not really a false promise. People need to realize that POTUS didn't even have a health policy and won an election. The GOP doesn't have one and they took over all levels of government.

The Democrats failed to control messaging and slept on the ACA and rested on their laurels.

Single payer is a big idea, an exciting idea, that gets the grassroots activated. Plus, in light of that proposal, there are multiple remedies to the ACA that can be made to pave the way for it. Stuff like Medicare negotiation on drugs, public option, etc, etc.
