If Texas and OU do indeed join the SEC, the baseball will be crazy and the basketball will be as well. Texas hopefully does improve on the court in the new arena as well.

I think there will be 4 16 team conferences but the ACC better watch out for the Big 10 trying to poach more teams.

Pac 12 should definitely grab, Baylor, TCU, Tech, and Ok St. They all have loyal fans who attend (home) games for sure.

If not, the only major conf with recruiting in state of Texas will be the SEC.

We've gone as far as we can in the Big 12 conf. In the early to mid 00s,the Big 12 was consistently near the top. And then the leadership let things get out of hand. It was just a matter of time til it folded completely

Yeah, growing up in the 2000s, y’all was always in the convo for top conference, OU & Texas won titles that decade and made multiple title games and then the 2010s came and Nebraska, A&M, & Colorado left and they dropped the conference title game then they brought back the conference title game, and the Big Ten & SEC separated themselves from the Big 12, I think back to 2014 when they had two conference champions and neither of them could secure a playoff spot. You’re right, everything was just mismanaged.

To your first, I will be shocked if the Pac 12 grabbed them. Especially if they still have reservations on grabbing religious schools. Baylor probably has to accept that they are headed for the AAC.
To your second, I think that will be good for Texas. Not to many mouths to feed inside the state with only two teams. A&M will come out better for this as well but they don't realize it. The state had too many FBS, P5, or Division 1 teams.

In fact, I think the Big 12 would still exist if it was just the Texas and Texas A&M going to the big 12 without Baylor and Tech tagging along due to politics. Would have played a round robin and Nebraska/OU game would have been played yearly instead of every other two years like it was (which btw, I never liked).

Dont knowwhy Tech gets lumped in with Baylor and TCU. Much larger school and alumni base. Much more alumni in DFW than the other two combined.

We'll need extra security for the bball game in Lubbock this year.

I'm so excited for basketball. I'm trying to get season tix for the inaugural season at Moody, drive down for a few marquee games and give away the rest to friends.
