Oh no, I'm not saying he played his ass off; this game was trash. But the only person who wanted to win that game was Deshaun. Giving Watt credit for the singular thing he did in that game on some 'he gave them the momentum!11!' shyt is the same talking points everyone is going to make to continue to treat the man like he's some white savior when, no, it wasn't him coming in barely blocked that got them that.
It was Deshaun breaking that run for the TD and literally running with 3 dudes on him. That was the moment where things switched. You could literally see him go 'We are not losing this fukking game' and throw everything he had into it.
The NFL's obsession with JJ - and, by connection, TJ - is excessive. You can tell. Any other game where a team comes back from 16-0 to win with no defensive touchdowns, they're fellating the QB on commentary and they rush him for an interview. Ol' girl ain't even notice Deshaun was behind her, she was so intent on talking to a guy who had... a single stat.
