It's little more than a transfer of wealth from the mostly poor to the well off from what I can see. And any good it does can be had without it. Why don't you explain why you still think we need it.

The church still serves several useful functions, and its emphasis on family and the two parent household, remains our best weapon against poverty...

Think of the church like Microsoft of today. Yes theyre bringing in revenue from old merchandise, but overall their business model is doomed.

That's how I know the bible was written by man, Jesus had a lot of disdain for the 'rich' religious folks in that new testament, and he hung with the invalids, and even married a ho.
