The inventor of this shyt is hollinger...these frauds fired lionel hollins after going to the conf finals because they wanted to turn into some fast pace 3pt team.....

They tried that shyt for 2 weeks the next season before coming to there senses and went back to their bread and butter with gasol and zbo and banging the boards

fired hollins for no reason only to hire Joerger to do the same offense 2 weeks into the season

you analytics frauds would have some answer if you could provide a championship where it worked

Like chuck said...the nba is about talent. The best teams have the best players

all this analytic shyt was just something these weird nerds made up to fit in the game because they had no talent to play the game

there was nothing analytical about MJ, Pippen and Rodman

there was nothing analytical bout LeGM, Bosh, and Wade
So what should the other 27 teams do that don't have a big 3?

There's only so many superstars in the league.

They should be applauded for trying to win in an unconventional way, instead of accepting mediocrity aka treadmill teams, or pulling a Hinkie and praying you hit on multiple top 5 picks.

If the Rockets make it out of the West, Moreyball will spread like cancer.

that wasn't Morey's call though. that was Leslie Alexander's call.

Morey still believes in the same idea of chasing stars and using free agency as a tool like everyone else. Analytics kicks in when figuring out what a player is worth and where to project talent coming out of the draft.

said that in my first post that this was les alexanders vision. He loves the Phoenix suns of the mid-2000's and pushed for that type of game play in Houston. DNantoni was a Les Influenced hire and Mchale was all Morey, which is why he had such a short leash and got axed early in the season.

Personally I think the mid-2000's squads started it and then Spurs spread it across the league with their 2013-2014 run. The corner 3 was established as the best possible shot, 3 pointers were outright being accepted as far better than 2(as 3>2 is basic as it gets).

Not to mention most of the talented big men are still young and so the league was adapting to the poor post big men that were coming in.

I think this might be a peak for awhile before it tames down down in about 5 years. Right now we two of the best shooters of all time on the same team hitting some outrageous shyt and that's causing the spread to the lower levels.

If Embiid stays healthy and can take over we might get some more players that work out in the post and play it that way. We got some good bigs coming up, they just need the right teams around them to shine.
you had a few teams but every defense in the east is giving up over 100 points and damn near every team in the west is too. The NBA in the mid 2000s defense wasn't giving up points like that on so many teams. You had Indy, Det, and etc playing that slow ass pace. You did have a few West teams that were running.
