There's nothing to really understand. This isn't the first time that he's referenced lines from other emcees or "bit" them, it's what he does. A lot of emcees do this including Nas. People only get mad when Jay does it because they see him as the toad from the 5 deadly venoms or some shyt. Cats are constantly looking for a weak spot to try and discredit him.

Its actually good song writing. Often times artists will quote themselves in a verse. What it does is gets the listener already familiar with the song by referencing some shyt theyre already familiar with and evoking whatever feelings the cited song brings.

So when Jigga says "When the Remy's in the system" youre already singing the song like by the time he gets to "cant take her little model hands off me..."

It doesnt mean that the quoted line is some sort of beacon of lyricism either. I mean, if Chief Keef says, "Catch a body, head to Indianapolis" does it become the pinnacle of lyricism? Is it far fetched that a nicca like Chief Keef could come up with a line like that?
