In the 1930s Special Prosecutor Tom Dewey hired 20 lawyers to be part of his team that was in charge of bringing down the mafia. One of the lawyers was a Black woman named Eunice Carter, a Black activist and attorney. Eunice was able to get evidence that linked mob boss Lucky Luciano to prostitution and that led to his downfall. She was the only person that was able to pin Luciano to any illegal activity.
