Amerie dropped in 2002, barley went gold, and had the highest charting song only reach #23 on the billboard hot 100

Beyoncé dropped in 2003, went 4x platinum, had 2 #1 hits, a song that was #3 and a song that reached #4 on the billboard hot 100. (4 songs in the top 5)


Since people keep using Rich Harrison as the deciding factor I'll mention that her other #1 hit was produced by Scott storch, in fact storch also produced that #3 and #4



It's safe to say that the competition between them that people speak of actually never existed

Jay simply outlasted the big personality period of Hip Hop that created rappers with so much presence
that they hugely succeeded as actors: LL, Ice T, Cube, Will Smith, Tupac. He was non-competitive '86 -'96

Bey is dope but she’s clearly an opportunist. Rich got a little success and threw up the deuces. nikkas don’t know the story here. Ameriie and Rich didn’t talk for years behind that. He didn’t do any work on Because I Love It or In Love and War because they wasn’t fukking with each other.

She just has it. Whatever it is lol. Amerie made good music, but Beyoncé is a better singer. I don’t like Beyoncé’s music, style, voice, or her dead pan personality so I don’t listen to her. I honestly have no idea about amerie’s personality, but she makes music I like and it stood up well with age in my opinion.

There are plenty of artists whose personalities I don’t like but I still listen to their music though. If you’re making them money I don’t think they care unless you’re a maniac.
