I like Amerie, but it's unfortunate that she isn't a great singer(or maybe she needs real training). Many people(even in my family who are singers) who have seen her live says that she is horrible. She may be better than Jennifer Lopez, but she cannot hold a candle to Beyonce. That still gives no reason to swag jack which Beyonce clearly did.

Rich Harrison getting cold didn't help Amerie either.

You just make up shyt in our own head to fit your own narrative. The comment was from 02-06, if you think Ashanti was bigger than Beyoncé for those 4 years then you're delusional. She only gets 02 and that's caus Beyoncé didn't drop yet lol.

Foolish came out in 02, beyonce didn't release her debut until 03. The moment Beyoncé dropped solo she was bigger than Ashanti. I don't come with emotions I come with facts. Both Ashanti and Beyoncé dropped albums in 2003, one sold double the other and one had more billboard hits, Beyoncé. Those are facts. Like I said the only one you can put with Beyoncé is alicia keys.

I stand by what I said. Ashanti was bigger than Beyoncé from 2002-2004. And you aren’t telling the truth.

You said and I quote “Beyoncé was bigger than every female artist you mentioned” which is a lie because she was NOT bigger than Alicia Keys either.

From 2002-2004, no female artist was fukkin with Ashanti.

You need to look at her trajectory breh. That chick broke numerous records. Bey didn’t really hit her stride until Sasha Fierce. Because even before then, Alicia Keys was outselling her as well.

I don't care about opinions, only facts A keys and beyonce did in one album what ashanti did in two, Oh and I didn't include worldwide sales cause it wouldve been embarrassing

02 Ashanti self titled RIAA: 3× Platinum #1, #8, #15 hot 100 hits
03 Ashanti chapter 2 RIAA: Platinum

03 beyonce dangerously in love RIAA: 4× Platinum 2 #1's, a #3, and a #4 hot 100 billboard hits

03 alicia keys RIAA: 4× Platinum #8, #3, #4 #20

so ashanti was bigger than who in 03 again :jbhmm:

Like i said leave your emotions out of it, since the moment beyonce dropped she has been bigger than ashanti

Beyoncé was bigger than every artist you named during that time frame.

dangerously in love sold 5 million in the us and had four top 5 billboard hot 100 hits. 2 #1's

Bday did 3.4 million and had two top 5 hot 100 hits. Irreplaceable was #1 for a good minute.

In between those two albums in 04 she dropped another destinys child album that also did 4 million, and had two top 5 hot 100 hits.

No the beehive didn't form until she started with that chant/anthem music but she was still at the top of the female R&B game. The only other artist you can make an argument for was alicia keys and I would be okay with that.

Diary of Alicia keys is the best female album in the 2000's

MUSIC; The Solo Beyoncé: She's No Ashanti

If Beyoncé has a mirror-image rival, it's Ashanti. You might call her a dependent woman, though that's not an insult. She made her name by telling gruff rappers how much she loved them, singing stylized duets with Fat Joe and Ja Rule. She was, we were constantly reminded, the first lady (or, more often, ''princess'') of the Murder Inc. record label, and everywhere she went, some guy was shadowing her, shouting the label's catch phrase: ''It's murder!''

Alicia Keys was just as big as Beyonce back then.
Keyshia Coles had the thots and the ratchets.
Ashanti was big from 2002 to 2004 then fell off.
Amerie was a strong selling gold artist from 2002 to 2006.
Ciara was a platinum selling artist in that time frame.

It's like arguing Jay-Z was the biggest rapper in 1998 because he built a legacy 20 years later. In reality, Jay-Z was competiting with DMX, Eminem, Ja Rule and others back then. Same with Bey. She became "Bey" after all her rivals in the early 2000s fell off and the new girls in the late 2000s like Keri Hilson couldn't knock her off.

there's a reason that weirdo has that badge under their name

Cardi B just shared a record held by Ashanti.
Cardi B Joins The Beatles & Ashanti With First 3 Hot 100 Hits in Top 10 Simultaneously; Ed Sheeran & Beyonce's 'Perfect' No. 1

Ashanti, who can't sing at all, set a music record held by only the Beatles - her first 3 songs ever hit the top 10.

yet dudes in here are telling you that she STILL wasn't a bigger artist than beyonce in her prime :gucci:

this has been a problem all up and down this discussion, dudes are blatantly ignoring FACTS/REALITY just to support beyonce.

Ashanti career rode Murder Inc wave & dipped along with it. Also, Crazy in Love is the preeminent song of 2003. Stop it

this was by design but that's for another topic

the beyhive on here (the coli of all places) hate when I bring it up, but beyonce can't topple the big 3 (swift, adele, perry) and she isn't even close

hell, she technically ain't even seeing rihanna in terms of holding significant music records

YouTube views, instagram/twitter/facebook followers (these matter now significantly in this era) - she's lagging behind dozens of her peers right now particularly on twitter

in the black and gay community, she's seen as a goddess - people look to her for life guidance in these communities

but outside of that? :camby:

Beyoncé doesn’t post on social media. Her team posts shyt on IG and she has 109 million followers, more than all of them. Beyoncé not engaging with fans at all helps in her & Jay-Z maintaining their celebrity in a world where everyone else appears so accessible.
