Both the writings on the wall and survivor sold more than anything murder inc has ever released

:patrice:but they didn't release anything between 2002 - 2004, that was the initial argument
.
my argument is about 2002. in that year, Ashanti came out the gate hotter than beyonce...hotter than any solo artist ever actually :francis:

i also couldn't help but notice that rep didn't reset either....you okay? :pachaha:

Detroit Lions, Michigan Wolverines & LWO
and that's fine to have that opinion. so answer this please: how do you explain ashanti holding that record, and not beyonce?

that's NOT evidence that at one point ashanti was running R&B? even if just for a year? :jbhmm:
So iggy Azela ran rap when she had the number 1 & 2 songs in the country at the same time?

They (A&B) were on the same label. Ameriie album came out FIRST....THEN they did the 1st Bey album w/ way bigger budget. Notice that DIL has multiple producers, guest appearances, etc.

Ameriie 1st album had ONE producer for the whole project and NO guest appearances. And she was a brand new artist.

That because Beyonce was already a big name and had a multi-platinum audience. :gucci:

nikkas going to act like Beyonce hasn't been the shyt since 1998. :dahell:

Those first 2 Destiny's Child albums was basically Beyonce's albums because she sung all of the damn songs. :dahell:

Most people just only knew Beyonce and not the other 3 girls in the group. :dahell:

So, her going solo (Which she really was already solo) was a no brainer. :dahell:

All of these songs went multi-platinum nikka. :dahell:

Okay let's stick to this argument. What all metrics and algorithms are you using to claim that Ashanti came out the gate hotter than any solo act ever. Alicia keys did 8 million out the gate, Beyoncé did 5 million. Both did way more than Ashanti. And that's just me starting at 2000.

Whoa....I was mainly mentioning the difference to show that the success Amerie's debut DID have was pretty admirable considering the limited resources she was allowed.

Also, if I remember right...didn't Beyonce have to come out of pocket for the Bday album? Columbia was only willing to promo 3 singles and after Irreplaceable they were ready to move on....even though Irreplaceable wound up being the biggest hit off the album.

Just mentioning that because it's more of a Columbia Records thing than it is about an actual artist "sabotaging" another artist.

2 things:

1) this is not a COLI argument. this has been a claim that's followed beyonce for years, decades even.

2) why are you limiting everything to beyonce, throw J-Lo in the mix, she's even more guilty of copying amarie than beyonce IMO, she even copied her singing style

also watch the video fellas - everybody copied that gogo/hiphop/R&B flavor from Amerie - Toni braxton, Kelly Rowland, Mary etc etc...
like DJ Envy said, it just seemed like that sound was everywhere after her...

the singing style was more than likely a result of the same people writing the song and telling the how they wanted to sing it...i'm not caping for J Lo, cause her entire career been about riding waves, but she was a way bigger star than Amerie and on the same label, so it doesn't seem farfetched that the song was made for Amerie, but the label gave it to J Lo cause they knew she would make it a smash...

and again, that was just one song...she went right back to doin what she was doin after that...

that sound was Rich Harrisons, not Amerie's...

Fam .... the same way Nicki Minaj seems to feel that Cardi B or whomever is behind her failing popularity is the same way 90% of these RnB chicks dont want to admit that they were the cause of their fall off ..... its always someone elses fault

I keep it real with you because im straight honest , Beyonce has only done two solo records I like, that me myself and I joint and love on the top , other than that her music is too pop for my taste..... i much prefer Ameries music

but the difference between me and a lot of halfwits posting is that I can suspend my personal bias to post an honest opinion

There were 1 million and one chicks making music like Amerie , whether it was Mya, Ashanti or whoever , she was one of many RnB chicks putting out good music and to be honest she got lost in the crowd, going plat was damn near the norm and she couldnt even do that

Taylor Swift damn near sending shots to every artist even in her radar yet these fools be looking at Beyonce under a microscope...

i might not like her music, but she came through and crushed the buildings , shes talented and she works hard, its that simple

Ameries and beyonces music sound nothing alike.... If you were talking Ciara and Janet or R kells and Aaron then you are on to something....

until someone comes with a single receipt of how Beyonce went in and told the record company not to fukk with Amerie or any other disgruntled RnB singer that didnt make it all that shyt is for the birds

B’Day doesn’t like an Ameriie’s album??

This thread is all types of funny, considering that ‘1 thing’ is a blatant rip off/swagger jack of Bey’s ‘Crazy In Love’ (clearly her label and handlers were trying to recreate the magic).

You cannot be serious with this post.

It’s even more funny that Ameriie’s debut album had that same go-go flavor live instrumentation type music on it. Now who swagga jacked who?
