How approachable are you?

I'd say I am but people around me don't think so because of my general nature. All of the typical ideas of friendliness and approachability (is that a word?) don't apply to me. I won't smile and talk a lot, I'm usually short with questions asked of me and my mind is always wandering so I appear uninterested even though I am listening. I just don't like performing for everyone at every moment, that's all. But, if you stick around me long enough, most people are surprised at how I can be. I'm just not firing off and emoting (my word for transmitting emotions, thoughts, ideas or feelings) at every second. I save words. More internal and I like to listen to others...

Same. I'm talkative but I'd rather listen. Just my nature.

eh on a scale of 1 - 10 im a 5. its the new yorker in me. i remember when i took my little brother up to college upstate and some random white dude just joined in on our convo and started talking to us. we were like is he insane? people from other towns tend to be a little friendlier than us city boys.

I agree. I think it may have to do with population density or lack thereof.

For instance, in NYC there's 8 million muphukas...if you struck up a regular conversation with people you come across on a daily basis you'd never get to where you have to go. In other areas where the population is sparse, people probably be a bit more thirst for conversation since it's not as dense with people.

I was walking with my girl and a dude approached me and was like "yo i know you from somewhere" and I'm like (i just moved back to NY after 15 years) now i could've been an ass and kept it moving but i entertained him and was like where you go to school….he mentioned some people who i didn't have a clue about and asked where i was from yada yada anyway i was just like nah man wrong person after a min or two my girl was like why the fukk you waste time like that mind you she anti social anyway so she probably would've ignored him. But i don't mind talking to people i don't know if a person come up and make convo i would engage even its some minute shyt. Do y'all talk to random people or be on some other shyt when people approach you.

even when i think i got that mean mug ice cube face going. they still hit me up. something about my face that says "talk to me" i dont know what it is. my mom and pops get the same thing. So i guess its in the DNA. i wonder if there's some type of frequency some of us are on thats a general frequency. or we emit some sort of general frequency where everyone feels comfortable hitting us up. i have had complete strangers tell me their life stories without me saying one thing as a youngin growing up riding public transportation. Nothing has changed as i became an adult. same thing. full grown dudes/ladies doesnt matter start randomly talking to me.

Little kids and old people. Little kids approach me to play or want to show me stuff, and old people always ask me to help them with stuff. It can be annoying, especially when I just want to get in and out of a place.
