Carson wentz, Kirk cousins, and kase keenum all had opportunities for a comeback against the lions defense but the defense sealed the games. But they're trash though.

They're winning but they're very ugly wins. They aren't winning by more than a touchdown or field goal and they've played a lot of average teams. That won't work in the playoffs if they even get there. They have to play two teams that already beat them and the cowboys and looking for a wildcard giants.
Stafford's playing really well.
However, they've been losing in every game in the 4th quarter except last week. They could easily be 4-8. The NFL has a very small margin for error. The difference between a 10-6 and 6-10 team is thisclose.

somewhere seeing Stafford didn't decide to be a competent QB until after he retired 
Stafford has 4 nice weapons with Tate/Jones/Ebron (really coming on) and Riddikk. Quan will get you that 6 on 3rd and 5 too
line has stabilized, Decker helps bring out the power run game and looks solid in pass pro.Reiff and Glasgow also add to the Big 10 mean-ness on the OL. similar to Titans
D has playmakers in Slay/Quin and Levy. Ansah too, not a good year for him but he'll get right eventually. Ngata has been better in his old age than most thought
coverage teams seem good, Prater is a great kicker and they got some slick return guys. its a very solid roster
