How are you guys getting such large refund checks

I mean most on here are unmarried w/ no kids, is it because I live in a state w/ no state income tax, because pretty much everyone I know who is single w/ no kids are getting about $2,000 but im seeing people on here talking about $8,000 etc

or are you lames cheating on your taxes

i think a good part of my typical annual refund comes from applying my mortgage interest. i usually file on extension though so i don't usually get mine til october. i have no idea what this year is looking like yet .

I believe what you say but what are these people doing that H&R/Jack Hewitt arent doing to get people this extra money.

Only thing I can think of is they help you itemize or something like that but if you werent prepared to do that throughout the year you probably dont have receipts or anything for that stuff so you couldnt pull it off right?

Ive already filed mine for this year so what can i do this upcoming year to maximize my refund for next year that doesnt involve me taking extra money out of my check every week. Picking up gas receipts off the ground at the stations? I mean what would get me the most money the tips and tricks edition
