Nah...if you actually listen to his lyrics or even read the book you would know that he wanted to drop this as the lead single to MMLP, they wanted something else since "my name is" was successful. Em himself thought my name is was stupid/corny...so when they asked him to repeat the formula he just went in the lab and came out with something he thought was just as stupid/corny.

That's not to say those songs aren't "him" per say because he is a cornball. But once they got a winning formula, they asked him to repeat it, and he did what was asked. He gets the obligatory formulaic single out the way then he can put out what he wants to put out. That seems to be the arrangement since the second album since I think the first single for SSLP came out before he was signed, I could be wrong.

A few things remain, Em records rarely use samples that UMG doesn't already own, and his music still panders to Americana because he's one of a handful of artists who will ALWAYS sell like crazy

Em chased cheesy vh1 style collabs/sounds with Skylar Grey and Rihanna . Kendrick dropped two creative concepts without sacrificing artistic integrity and remaining true to his style.

Em had a shot to drop a concept album with Relapse but shoved radio attempts like We Made You and Crack a Bottle down our throats. Eminem discography would be held in higher regards if he didn't sacrifice his art.
