How big a factor is the fear of Hell for Christians?

Is the fear of Hell keeping you from asking questions about your religion?

Is the fear of Hell keeping you from studying other religious texts outside of your religion?

Is the fear of Hell keeping you from thinking rationally?

I'm just pointing out the fact that people have strong faiths in their religions and they have no fear of the afterlife/hell etc.
