lol

but dude admitted numerous times that he burned bridges and was afraid of success so he prob got as big as he was going to get.

Yeah, but coming to terms with his mortality showed him changing a bit. He was starting to apologize and make more compromises. He was on the verge of a show deal with FX which seems likely considering FX putting a lot of trust in more risky endeavors and giving freedom to some of the show runners. Elephant in the Room didn't cross-over but the material was phenomenal and had that kind of appeal. I think if he had gotten out another stand-up (not counting the CD), he may have hit...especially if he did another Roast though I don't think he would be willing to do that again.

Well, considering Louis CK was trying to get him something situated for him on FX, might have finally been able to buy his moms that house. Also, if he has stayed alive past the "Elephant in the Room" buzz he might have allowed himself to jump on some of those Kevin Hart projects, I even heard K Hart paid for Patreeky funeral and they were on their way to repair their friendship that had faded since hart moved to LA. Dude was actually beginning to play the game. I remember when he did the flick with Norton 'Furry Vengeance" and Patrice was a dikk to everyone, until brooke shields forced him to open up and stop being so hard headed and self-defeatist. I guess he used that experience because in the next movie role "Nature Calls" he was maaad humble, asking producers/equipment techs etc how shyt worked/ just general wanting to learn about the biz questions, kicking it with Rob Riggle and basically starting to get the recognition he deserved.

If you watch that Opie and Anthony show with Chris Rock and Patrice he says that he was the main reason he isn't bigger than what he was. He wanted him to be the father on "Everybody hates Chris" But he was too unprofessional. Didn't know his lines and was rude to everyone. It seemed like right before his death he was finally starting to see he had to change his attitude in order to be successful.

Yeah I heard about this. That whole convo was funny.

When I heard this story, I was :dead:

Saying how he got put through the "punk test" and failed miserably. I haven't really heard his stand up material but all the things I heard on Opie and Anthony made me  All those conversations.

Speaking of Patrice, post your favorite clips. I always love when Bill Burr and him are on together.

It's Cold Outside

As far as Patrice's career, yeah man, he was funny as shyt, but he was a lazy motherfukker, maybe it was because of the diabetes, I don't know. But he could have been Craig Robinson or even bigger. The big funny black guy. He wouldn't have to wear a dress or anything. I will never understand why he gave up that sitcom shyt. Those are some easy checks. That nikka that plays Stanley is going to eating good off that sitcom syndication money.

Had to quote you twice for being double the dumbass. There isnt one comedian who knew patrice that didnt think he was a genius. Even Chris Rock said dude is a genius, but didnt care.

Nah breh, biiiiig misconception. Dude was far from lazy he just tired of trying to "make it", check this "unmasked" clip. And regard to the "Arrested Development" "Office" checks he was getting, he was tired of doing 6 hours of genius takes only for them to use 2 minutes of some genius shyt he did. Thats a big reason why he tried do to the "Patrice O'neal Show".
