I prayed today. But I don't consider myself any religion. Just a believer in spirituality and oneness with earth.

I'm sort of here with it.

de·ism
ˈdēizəm,ˈdāizəm/
noun
  1. belief in the existence of a supreme being, specifically of a creator who does not intervene in the universe. The term is used chiefly of an intellectual movement of the 17th and 18th centuries that accepted the existence of a creator on the basis of reason but rejected belief in a supernatural deity who interacts with humankind.

The concept of deism covers a wide variety of positions on a wide variety of religious issues. Sir Leslie Stephen's English Thought in the Eighteenth Century describes three features[17] constituting the core of deism:

  • Rejection of religions based on books that claim to contain the revealed word of God.
  • Rejection of religious dogma and demagogy.
  • Skepticism of reports of miracles, prophecies and religious "mysteries".
Constructional elements of deist thought included:

  • God exists and created the universe.
  • God gave humans the ability to reason.
Specific thoughts on aspects of the afterlife will vary. While there are those who maintain that God will punish or reward us according to our behavior on Earth, likewise there are those who assert that any punishment or reward that is due to us is given during our mortal stay on Earth.

Contemporary deism attempts to integrate classical deism with modern philosophy and the current state of scientific knowledge. This attempt has produced a wide variety of personal beliefs under the broad classification of belief of "deism". The Modern Deism web site includes one list of the unofficial tenets of modern deism.[61]

Classical deism held that a human's relationship with God was impersonal: God created the world and set it in motion but does not actively intervene in individual human affairs but rather through divine providence. What this means is that God will give humanity such things as reason and compassion but this applies to all and not to individual intervention.

Some modern deists have modified this classical view and believe that humanity's relationship with God is transpersonal, which means that God transcends the personal/impersonal duality and moves beyond such human terms. Also, this means that it makes no sense to state that God intervenes or does not intervene, as that is a human characteristic which God does not contain. Modern deists believe that they must continue what the classical deists started and continue to use modern human knowledge to come to understand God, which in turn is why a human-like God that can lead to numerous contradictions and inconsistencies is no longer believed in and has been replaced with a much more abstract conception.

A modern definition[62] has been created and provided by the World Union of Deists (WUD) that provides a modern understanding of deism:

Deism is the recognition of a universal creative force greater than that demonstrated by mankind, supported by personal observation of laws and designs in nature and the universe, perpetuated and validated by the innate ability of human reason coupled with the rejection of claims made by individuals and organized religions of having received special divine revelation.

I haven't prayed in a minute.
So you haven't preyed in a minute, read the bible some years back and probably engage it something that in Christianity is seemed sinful but yet are asking for this God to give you and chance and saying you feel alone. Dont you think if this God was to hand you anything the least you should do is get right according to him

What I find is you have to seek God yourself, especially in this day and age where prosperity churches litter the landscape who preach that pleasing gospel.

Once you've accepted Jesus, I find that for me, what was beneficial was doing my best to follow the tenets outlined. It's not easy, and I've failed numerous times, but overall, making this attempt has cleaned up my life and gave me much more inner peace.

James 1:8
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

If you are serious about considering this path, send me a message and we'll have a discussion. I don't really want to get in some huge debate

What has atheism done for the black community since you have the answers?
This is always an interesting statement.
Atheism is just the lack of belief.
So Atheism should do "nothing" for the Black community.
It shouldn't be a help, or a hindrance.
Every Black atheist I know is in college or graduated already.

All is know is Jesus didnt die for anybody's sins so the entire notion behind the faith is Whoa! Black folks barely know that Israelites didnt even believe in original sin (it's nowhere in the Bereshyt section of the Torah), so why would God have to come die for our sins. Its built upon nonsense.
