you can find plenty of reasons for the embargo

and normalization is happening now because

1- the cold war BEEN over
2- castro and his brother are both about to be dead
3-politically there is no fallout for obama to enact normalization

most people dont see the need for it - its a strident rorschach test for righties and more and more what righties value is starkly becoming passe and way out of touch with what young and new voters value

so if cuba really opens up - in probably a few short years it is gonna be shytty for miami

miami is overpriced and its RE is overvalued - rich brazillian and latin americans goto it because they cant floss in their country and the US is pretty stable investment wise - the only young people that goto miami go for the clubs and parties

cuba is cheap cheap cheap now - most euro and canadians go there for very affordable vacation - this will change once americans are able to go and american investment can make its way into the cuban economy

why pay millions for a villa in miami when you can get a WAY cheaper and nicer looking place in cuba?
