I don't like 99% of Beyoncé music,i give her a pass cuz she wit Hov and more importantly she fine as hell...Aaliyah did make better music in my opinion,but ima big R Kelly fan and most of my favorite songs of hers is from that album. Personality yeah she was more likeable and not a media trained robot like Beyoncé....but I think what we learned today is that the only problem with Beyoncé is that the media treat her like she the only chick in rnb,and even imo go out of they way to downplay other rnb chicks soon as the opportunity comes just to make sure Beyoncé remains on top,any other field they try to push these old nikkas into retirement....I don't know if that speaks to the connection she has with her fans,or connections she has in the business. But she doin something right,she definitely has a place in the game. Alicia Keys had her foot on Beyoncé neck for a second there I thought then she married Swizz Beatz and aint been the same since..please just let other females in rnb shine like they did in the 90's,2000's. Its shame everybody cant appreciate beyonce impact and longevity because it appears shes being forced on us due to lack of competition. Not that its a lot of talent out there,but I know I aint the only one who notice everytime one start lookin like a threat to beyonce the suddenly meet they demise and face character assasinations and blackballing...not sayin its coming from her,probaly female beyonce stans on the blogs hatin. but who else done it as big as bey for as long?

For what its worth, I liked Alicia Keys better than I did Beyonce too....obviously now she fell off....but, I prefer the "Fallin/A Woman's Worth/Diary/You Don't Know My Name/If I Aint Got You" Alicia Keys to anything Beyonce put out. I mean damn......Alicia Keys is half white and she has more soul than Bey

Alicia was a different level,cant really mention Dangelo and Lauren as they were insane and on drugs...John Legen always been and safe nikka cac music to me....I wouldn't exactly call Sade and Maxwell IN the game....but Alicia Keyes coulda been different,she had looks,soul,talent..she was a nice contrast to Beyoncé and folks was choosin,i liked her,beyonce,keisha cole as the lead for they particular lanes...she could do classic rnb and make it radio friendly and didn't have to go pop.....she been on her John Legend lately that's for sure. She need to get back to the basics and keep it simple,and drop that chump Swizz,his wackiness is rubbing off,his nack for horrible ideas is getting transferred to her during pillow talk

I don't understand the blind hate(well, I do but..) that some people have for gifted and talented artists that are driven. In Beyoncé's case, she was the little girl who realized her dream early and made the sacrifices to make that dream a reality. A lot of the hate stems from the fact that she arguably the most beautiful, talented and successful black female entertainers since Josephine Baker or Lena Horne. I'm sure someone will name someone else but I don't really know another black entertainer that has been more desired by men, of all races or wanted to be more emulated by girls and women alike at this insane level.

Fellow artists appreciate and respect each others talents. Those that denigrate other musicians/singers are just jealous that they, themselves, don't possess the same talent that they hate on. A lot of these artists have thick skin because the hate has been happening since whenever they discovered and started expressing that talent.... some as early as small children.

Lastly, every performer mentioned in this thread brings something different to the table that can be appreciated. The main reason why black music has fallen off because there's little no diversity in the artists or in the consumer's taste. There is room for everyone if people allow it. Beyoncé may be that "boss b***h, but I can also appreciate the vivid and creative songwriting that Ashanti has done for herself and other artists as well or I like to watch Mya or Ciara come up with some new, hot dances, or hear Faith Evans kill ballads.

I just don't see how this girl could be put up on that pedestal when she NEVER wrote her own songs, didn't have great vocals, and her career was built mainly on R Kelly's/Timbaland's/Missy Elliot's writing and Timbaland's beats.
