Meanwhile he is a top 5 earner in rap... Who's lying? I don't see Wayne or jprince etc on that list. Drake makes the bulk of his money off endorsements and performance. Something none of those partied get a cut off. Record label gets a cut of album sales royalties only.

Drake got signed during peak 360 era...everybody gets a cut of everything...

there's a difference between what you earn and what you have in your bank account...

lil wayne get a cut
Universal gtt a cut
Birdman get a cut
j prince get a cut
Lil Wayne and J Prince's (son) both got finessed by Birdman and Cortez Bryant respectively according to their lawsuits. Universal get their cut and Birdman gets his cut and Birdman pays Gee Roberson and Cortez Bryant.

He did sign to the British rapper Skepta like last month or something :mjlol:

Drakes deal was on the internet,

Under the unusually lucrative agreement he struck with Aspire/Young Money/Cash Money Records distributed through Universal, Drake received a $2-million advance. He retains the publishing rights to his songs and cedes only around 25% of his music sales revenues to the label as a "distribution fee," his managers said. By contrast, the overwhelming majority of new artists sign financially restrictive "360 deals" that sap their touring and merchandise income and offer much more restrictive profit-sharing.

Lil Wayne and Jas Prince don't make money off Drake albums
Wayne is suing cus he dont get paid off Drake's sales.

Jas Prince split a finders fee with Cash Money and that was it.
Wayne makes money.

He is suing for royalties

Unless you know specific terms of his deal you don't know that

Bird makes money from drake. Wayne doesn't :francis:
So it's just slim/Bird and universal
And Cortez Bryant and Gee Roberson.

Drake and OVO 75 %

25 % -> Universal and Cash Money, Cash Money has a pretty good deal the old one was like 85-15 split -> ⅓ of that 85% of the 25 % to Aspire who are supposed to pay Jas Prince. The question is if Drake still is signed to Aspire. And obviously Young Money is an subsidiary of Cash Money, I don't know what type of deal structure they have, probably none.

He also made the third most off royalties last year

Taylor Swift Tops Billboard's Top Money-Makers List of 2015

Drake was the No. 1 streaming artist (2.9 billion plays) and No. 3 in artist royalties ($6.7 million), while he sold 1.7 million albums, including his share of sales for his mixtape with Future.

“To have a kingpin around subscription, and someone who really understands content within Apple, we feel very positive about that,” said Lucian Grainge, the chairman of Universal Music. Universal acquired a 14 percent stake in Beats by allowing Mr. Iovine to pursue the company, a share that will net the label more than $400 million."
