How can I become a chef without going to culinary school?

Just practice and read books. Put in that work and follow the recipes. That would be a start I guess. Culinary school would just step ur game up and make u official but you can do a lot of that work by urself.

Start out as a line cook and work your way up...that's what you would have to do anyway even if you went to school..

Then just keep working at it and you might not even need culinary school. There's a lot of self taught people in every field.

If serious, you have to start at the bottom as a dishwasher and work your way up. First salad cook, then fry cook, then grill, and after a couple years then you'll become a chef.
