They give high credit limits compared to everyone else except pen fed....but they are the easiest
Do they give high credit limits to people that were in the military, or do they give high credit limits to everybody that is involved with the credit union?

Every individuals credit history is their own history. Including owning a business. The business is its own entity as well.

Is he looking for business dealings?

Is he looking for individual dealings?

Is he even looking for investment and or credit opportunities?

His post is vague so we don't know what he's looking for.

But shopping every option will give you the best bang for your buck. It doesn't matter who has the best what if your credit is fukked up.

From what I understand NFCU is much more generous with their credit cards and loans.
All credit unions are generous with their credit cards and loans. That's why it's a credit union. But I see what you're trying to say. This is the best one according to what some people are saying, who are these people by the way?

Also are they more generous to people with military backgrounds, which is what I'm thinking is the whole point of this type of credit Union? Or do those benefits extend to not only those military backgrounded people, but the people who are just involved in the bank?

Either way based on his individual credit history, he still may have to shop around for the best thing for his possible buck.

Online reviews say they are more generous. Additionally they have good word of mouth. When I worked in banking the few times I’ve seen people with Navy Federal credit cards, they’ve been in the 5 figures, even if we weren’t giving them that.

Credit unions serve their members, so they are going to give everyone the same treatment once they become a member, dependent on their credit profile. That’s the benefit of being a member.

Also, OP never said he wasn’t shopping around. He wants to know how to qualify for membership. I’m assuming it’s so he can apply for a loan. But he needs to be a member first in order to do that.

They give high credit limits to all of their members regardless….their criteria for what they issue is based off of the members relationship with them….do they use their normal checking account regularly? Do they have a savings account, if so how much? What other navy federal services do they use…cd’s mutual funds life/car insurance…your relationship with navy federal is more important than your credit score even though you do have to have a decent score for higher limits…

however we don’t even know what OP wants an account for :yeshrug:
