I got a Galaxy Note 3. Its only a few months old. Brand new looking condition.

Now that Apple has come out with a bigger screen, I want to switch over.

I'm not too familiar with technology and etc and I'm not even familiar with the plan that I have. I'm on a family plan, so I dont even see the bill.

I am on AT&T though.

So yeah, let me know how I can switch over.

You can either start your own plan or sell your Note 3 on Craigslist for cash and take that cash and put it towards the purchase of the Apple.

Wherever whores go.....
You can get a pretty decent price on Craigslist

Off the top of my head at least $350+
Trading it in will get you at ost $300
Look around CL and see what the average phone with your specs is going for

A 6+ will be at a premium since the demand is much higher than the stock. But give it time and it will come down a bit. And the retail prices on the 6+ are ridiculous

You can wait for buyers remorse and a couple weeks and out your phone request a trade on CL

But unless you have an upgrade you are sol right now

thanks....couple of questions....

- what is this whole "locked" "unlocked" thing I keep on reading.

- how come people are selling used Note's for $300-$400 or out of the box Note's when you can get a new, unboxed,

phone with a 2 year contract for $299?

You mean on craigslist?

Locked means you can use it only with the original career
Unlocked means its free to use with any carrier but usually applies to GSM phones.
ie a TMobile iPhone will work only wiht tmobile unless its uncooked
AT&T and T-Mobile are GSM networks
Verizon and Sprint are CDMA

A contract means well your locked into a contract.
The worst thing about the US is people are so blinded by contract pricing they fail to see how much they over pay over the two years

To break it down

Lets say

You do a 2 year contract with 4G LTE Data
a $650 phone usually is $199.99 however you are paying well over $80 with taxes and fees sometimes over $100 for a single line!

So $200 for a $650 phone seems like a great deal but
$85*24= $2040 + $200 = 2240

Now lets take a look at buying a phone outright and choosing a similar plan
$650
Most non-contract plans are usually ~50
$50*22=1200 + $650 = 1850

So over 2 years your paying an extra $400(find an invest that will give you $400 for investing $2,000)
But you can usually find phones are cheaper and never locked into a contract.

If I want to sell on Craigslist(or any place for that matter) is it recommended that I myself unlock the phone,

or does it not really matter, as anyone who will buy the phone can do it themselves?

Doesn't sound like you're even in charge of your cell phone service. I'd just keep what I got if I were you.
