the people glorifying it have a vested interest in glorifying it and if no one glorified the gang lifestyles, they would still thrive because there would still be gangs.

you want to "solve gang violence"? solve economic inequality but that won't happen because this system can't exist without there being winners and losers and it's rigged to ensure that "certain groups" have a disproportionate amount of losers and a few winners that everybody points at and asks "why can't yall be more like them"

Hispanics don't glorify gangs they way African-Americans do.If anything they're looked at as a stigma. Maybe it's because blacks have a huge influence on entertainment but at same time so do Hispanics so that's not really an excuse.

My experience came from having both parents be college educated, and witnessing a relative suffer under an alcoholic father.. You think a kid with two educated parents is gonna suddenly go into the harshest parts of the city and sell crack? You should write that movie, oscar winning potential.

of course not, but there aren't a lot of households with 2 college educated parents in areas plagued with gang violence, and the answer isn't as simple as "they should just go to college and problem solved"

Well music videos, movies, the big entertainers, social media. I mean look at the most beautiful entertainers Beyoncé, Rhianna, Nikki they all talk about falling in love with thugs. You dint really hear black people shame gang life as much as they should. Hispanic on the other hand. El chapo for example. When I heard coverage about el chapo in the Spanish channel I mostly heard about how much crime he's cause, how many people he's killed. You don't hear entertainers co sign him.yelling out free him. Yall can talk about Pablo Escobar but Colombian were celebrating the streets crying tears of joy when he got killed. Scarface is more glorified by African Americans than Hispanic.

I normally don't like to touch race topics be its too sensitive but when it comes to this discussion it's a good comparison bc here's two minoritites both having to deal with similar obstacle but one has succeeded in making out of poverty better than the other. I'm not saying glorifying gang life is the sole reason but it's definitely a variable.

We've been going at that same problems for decades. It's time for us to police and protect our own communities. Also, we need to establish better resources

Group Economics and have a race first agenda and do for self.Basically what booker t emphasized mixed with a bit of Garvey. If you take away gangster rap something else will come along to replace it. Instead of tearing infrastructures down we can build them. The Italians didn't stop making gangster movies. We can capitalized off of it but we much express a disdain for that lifestyle and show and teach our youth group economics and do for self.
