How can you be from the hood and root for a "culture vulture" to end Meek Mill's career?

so u gotta have fukked up parents if u live in the hood?... u sound like a cac.

Not necessarily , I grew up around the corner from dream chaser Tak in a two parent household and went to private school every yr except 3 :sas1:

Meek describes his situation as fcuk up and stayed in juvenile detention. He wasn't raised right. Does he even know his father? At least drake dad got him in the summer. :sas2:

I put culture vulture in quotes because thats what rappers have called him, those arent my words.

I wouldnt call him a culture vulture....but blackening up your voice in certain settings and taking slang/style from regions you arent from is what these rappers are referring to i guess. I understand where theyre coming from.

Can you read?

I said "from", not "in".

If you call drake a "culture vulture" then you don't get to reinforce topics in the black community like "Code Switching"

C'mon son.

Its like meek crying in court about not being a gangster but thugging it out when he's with his boys.

Which is it?

I do pull for meek. Meek Mill music is more relatable for the people in the hood so I respond to it more. Drake is just way to fake to support.

Meek Mill War Machine >>>>> Summer Sixteen
No.

Just.

No.

Summer Sixteen is a BETTER song. Not even close.

War Pain is a better DISS. Big difference.

Yes because it is commonly known that starting from the bottom means starting from a privileged position. The logic of a drake stan:mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:
Unless metaphors are lost on you entirely as a consumer of music.

You don't have to grow up with a drugged out mother and sharing your bed with roaches to make a song about appreciating the grind to the top.

The struggle AINT beautiful bro.

If you like that shyt, more power to you...and i'll admit, it makes for compelling music, IF DONE WELL...however, if you can't appreciate "Started from the Bottom" without feeling like every time its brought up you have to go into a Poverty Contest, then you lost.
