Yall do it ALL THE TIME. But unlike you, I'm not bashing Halo.
Destiny is similar to core Halo gameplay period.
However the round development differs and gives it a way different feel. You aren't fighting over power-ups/power weapons and thus the rounds end up being played in a very different manner.
Plus the skills and the different classes...and...well...you start to see my point. Games have similar functions but tend to differentiate themselves when the gameplay is really explored.
And Reach is fukking trash. The bloom was horribly implemented (non-motion based bloom? gftfo.)

And to top it off this is just the PVP element of the game. Once you start talking about the PVE portion of the game it differentiates itself from Halo completely.
