Halo 1-3 were all great IMO.
Sprint killed Halo for me. Yea I get it, why can't a bunch of super steroided soldier sprint. Leave it in the story mode then.
It killed the how the maps are designed and play out. 343 had to design larger maps to accommodate faster player movement speed. These larger maps sucked ass imo. Perks, loadouts and all that Call of Duty shyt didn't help either. It's not that the gameplay is bad, it's not what made Halo the franchise that is it was.

When Goldeneye was out we used to play license to kill pistols only. One shot kill headshots to see who had the quickest and most accurate shot.
In Halo 2 we would play no shields. Just battle rifles on Lockout . One shot kill headshots for the same reason.
Never realized it but I always preferred the instant kill games
To us it was always about who had the best accuracy. My Halo 2 accuracy used to be like 50%
