how can you even debate Jay-z isn't the best rapper from NYC ever?

Most awesome troll post ever. This nikka said Jae Hood :pachaha:
Again the jigga warriors ignore the question and use jays popularity and money. We didn't say anything about attendance records for stadiums at a rap concert. We talking about rap. Like rhyme two words together. No money no maybachs. Beats and rhymes. Jay ain't even top 20 in his city. My list confirms that. I forgot to add

Jaz-o
Jadakiss
Styles P
Ghostface
Raekwon
Jae Hood
Max B

The list goes on and on

Jae Hood mentions?

And get Nas the fukk outta here. Goats don't squander their primes. That's actually something Jay DIDN'T do. He delivered from 1996-2000.

Because Nasir Jones still breathes life. Thats how it can be debated

#TPC

This.

People should be making threads on why they think *insert rappers name here* is better than Nasir - his place as the greatest of all time is solidified now.

His career has had it all. Everything, you name it: the beefs, the platinum plaques, the awards, the highs, the lows and everything in between. he's STILL making music and arguably in a lyrical zone at the moment comparable to the piffery that was the years including and in between Stillmatic and Gods son.

:lawd: Don't get me started on the flow, his ability to freestyle, that mic presence and delivery. Dude has the total package.

He'll go down as HipHops best businessman when it's all said and done.

As far as Best rapper tho' naw. Nas is. Though Nas may be one of HipHops worst businessmen.

jay dropped his best album in 1996 and was pretty much after thought until biggie and pac died and nas took a break. Hell, you can include mase and puff falling back into that equation. jay is smart and knows how to stand the test of time, but i can't call him a goat NYC rapper when he was around for the 2 biggest era's of new york hip hop ( i aint forgetting the 80's) and didn't make a splash until everyone was gone. big fish in a small pond

Well it's undeniable that Jay is one of the all-time greats. He's got classic songs, classic albums, classic bars.

Jay vs. Rakim & BDK & etc is a never-ending argument. They accomplished different things.

Bar for bar, Jay-Z might not be the "best" NYC rapper. But he is great at making songs and not every rapper can do that well.

Jay is a good businessman, but to not give him props on his music is insane. If you're throwing a party, a CD of Jay-Z hits will get way more love than a CD of Nas or Ghostface hits...and that's gotta count for something. It's not like it's easy to make huge hits like "Empire State of Mind," "99 Problems," and "Big Pimpin."

Other than Nas this entire list is wrong. None of these dudes were ever the best from NYC. And as for the bold, you can't be serious.
