Natural sugars found in fruit are fine. If you can just try to avoid things like candy and processed sweets such as boxed snack cakes, cookies, ice cream, etc.

When ppl say they are cutting out sugar they are referring to junk food and soft drinks.

Is there sugar in beans? Depends on what type. Pretty low in most instances.

Is there sugar in nuts? Yes, sucrose. Like beans very low amount

Actually, I add sugar to the grits on purpose. Lot of people don’t know it’s a lot better sweet than salty. It’s something I saw my sister doing years ago and I’ve been doing it since. She actually cooks it in milk (instead of water) and then adds sugar.:yeshrug:

Beans and nuts have small amounts of sugars, as do many vegetables. Like people said, pretty easy to cut out added sugar foods as opposed to naturally occurring such as those in fruits, nuts, veggies, grains or dairy

A lot of fruits are too high in sugar for low carb low sugar diet. My dad has diabetes and his nutritionist tells him to avoid regular consumption of most fruit accept berries. Fruit is def a no go for keto

Also any nutrition you get in fruit, you can get the same from green vegetables but without the same sugar content

You are cap prove it scientifically you dumb asses are differentiating bewteen natural sugar and processed sugar ,but are not taking into account carbohydrates are coverted into a sugar specific to your metabolic processes in your body.Yet some how a natural food high in catbohydrates can be analyzed with no sugar nutritional value how?Sugar isnt present in everything and you cant quote any scientific study saying this.You're just doubling down on ignorant if this was the case ketosis and intermittent fasting would be impossible things that people can actually verify in their homes testing their ketones.

IT'S HARD STARTING OFF. MY FRIEND IS PREDIABETIC. HE JUST GOT SUDDENLY THROWN ON THIS DIET. HE DIDN'T KNOW HOW IT WAS EVEN POSSIBLE SO WE WENT AT IT TOGETHER. IT'S REALLY ROUGH AT FIRST BUT YOU GET BETTER AT IT. DEVOLOPING THE HABIT OF CHECKING YOUR LABELS IS THE HARD PART.

YOU WILL HAVE TO STOP EATING OUT FOR AWHILE UNTIL YOU GET A GRASP ON WHAT HAS SUGAR IN IT. JUST ABOUT EVERY SAUCE HAS SUGAR. I DIDN'T CATCH ON TO BBQ SAUCE UNTIL ABOUT A WEEK INTO THE DIET I THINK.

OVERALL, IT ISN'T THAT BAD.

One, why are you getting so angry :dahell:

Two, no one said it was in everything, it’s in almost everything...you’re free to go to google and see nuts and beans have anywhere from 1/2-2g sugar per serving

Three, there’s a whole bunch of gibberish in your reply. All of us you quoted have differentiated between natural sugars and added sugars when saying you can’t completely avoid sugars

Four, intermittent fasting has nothing to do with sugar/carbs, and ketosis is reached by keeping your net carbs under a certain amount, not having zero carbs/sugars. You can also eat slightly higher carbs (30-80g) but reach ketosis via exercise
