How come Arrested Development is just a footnote in alternative hip-hop?

They were different, refreshing, bold, and conscious which makes a lot of Black people feel uncomfortable because it forces them to notice certain things theyd rather not.

Groups like AD, Dead Prez etc will be called wack, preachy etc because the safe space Blacks fear the system and will condemn anything that challenges them to confront or even call it out.
People are too p*ssy, and shun these type acts.

The c00n 50 Cent the tried attacking Dead Prez because DP was scaring White rap fans :mjpls:

:pachaha:
50 liked Dead Prez but as he stated, they aren’t selling Anything.

Ironically, Dead Prez has a bunch of cacs in their audience.

Dead Prez didn’t sell out and thnk god that they didn’t end up turning weird like a lot of rappers in the Soulquarians Neo Soul backpack era:

Mos Def got exposed for being a trick

Common ended up being the spokesperson for Crochet pants

Kanye ended up becoming a full blown k00n to the point where he’s wearing a KKK robe

Questlove and The Roots got exposed for being fukk nikkas

Talib out here smashing a pornstar with a face only a mother can love

To do their type of rap and be commercially successful, you have to be SUPER dope. Speech is not. They got lucky on the big singles on the first album. People Everyday, it was the sample. Tennesee, no idea. Two hit wonders.

EDIT: Mr. Wendel is arguably the gayest rap song ever:francis:

I went to high school with someone who is now in this group. They still tour and everything. I thought this song from 10 years ago or so was dope.

They had too much going on. I liked the first album but I was done by album two. This song went hard tho

They did their thing with the little time they had and that’s ok with me

This joint was dope too!

They had a nice amount of high quality classic joints. And this was during a time when you didn't have to follow and could be different. So I always gave them props as a group for that. They did well for that era, and I would say even exceeded expectations. BET and MTV blasted their sh*t all day!

Arrested Development walked so Kendrick and J. Cole, and Earthgang run…

If they came out in the blog era, they’d get more love.

Wasnt no one bumping their shyt in the whips. Their music scares the hoes(toxic ones)

Id rather bump Michael Franti and Spearhead or better yet Don Jagwarr.

Leave them in 1992.

Aint no one really sporting medallions now anyways.

Its a Shiesty Mask and a pair Balenciagas with a pouch
