How come Asians don't fall under systematic racism?

I would guess thats it more about the fact that the majority of asians in America weren't taken from their homeland by the millions, forced into slavery for hundreds of years and then denied oppurtunities and mistreated for another hundred or so years.

The hatred for black folks seems more visceral and intrinsic if not cultural. Most times they speak of fear of black people it is to justify offensive/violent action against them.

Blacks and Latinos represent an internal threat to white supremacy. Jews have monetized it, and asians are at peace with it.

speaking as an immigrant, my parents and grandparents forced the power of education, especially STEM/professional degrees, down my throat. sometimes, to the point of c00nery.

and that's what asians have over black people and latinos.

they eat shyt from cacs all day everyday cause they know it will eventually pay off. cacs also dont find them threatening. but there is nothing more threatening, especially to a cac, than an intelligent, well-spoken, and ambitious black person.

Certainly not to the degree black people are, but many of them are victims of white supremacy. Most Cambodians and Vietnamese in America live in poverty. Don't fall for the propaganda that paints them as the successful minority that black people should aspire to be.

Being Asian, I think I can elaborate on this. I can't speak on other Asians but my family and almost all my asian friends that were not born here all come from very poor backgrounds with uneducated parents. The new crop that you see at these ivy league schools are very different and I can't relate to them much. For my friends and I, education was a huge emphasis for us as a way to succeed so we had a lot of pressure to do well in school, go to college, get corporate jobs, etc. We all grew up poor, a lot of us lived in the projects on the Lower East Side, really did not have much, parents always working, etc but we did have a great support system. We obviously do not face the same racism as blacks or latinos, etc and it shouldn't even be in the same sentence but the success of asians or the model minority myth shouldn't undermine the racism that asians did face and continue to face. I suggest reading on the history of chinese people in this country if you disagree. I would say that asians enjoy a lot of the benefits of the model minority myth, being seen as good workers, good at math, etc. Again, not speaking on other asians, I'm acutely aware of the privileges afforded to asians that other groups don't have but doesn't take away from busting my ass since I was 8.

Overall, the more that you're accepted into mainstream america, the more successful you'll be and we just don't seem to be seen as a threat for us to really experience at ant level the type of racism that black folks face daily. Similar to italians, jews, greeks, lebanese.

They have a small population in the U.S. and their role is to be the model minority. White people know they aren't a threat in the U.S. and they use them to say "see we're not racist we like Asians". But the key thing is they are a small population here.

Same question applies even moreso for Indians. They are dark-skinned and come from a poor, backwards country, yet in the US they have highest income of any ethnic group and are wildly overrepresented in the professions, in academdia, in boardrooms, and in politics.

Most Indians that come to this country and become doctors and whatnot were atleast upper middle class in India.

People underestimate the benefits of having a mainland culture and country to draw from. So much currency, culturally, socially, economically, generationally, representatively...

There is a world of difference between a group of people having to CREATE a culture in a completely new environment while being decimated and attacked at every turn, and others coming from already established countries. I don't give excuses to blk Americans who ain't doing what they need to do but the scope of what we face in comparison to these other communities is a completely different animal.

That is why I am glad to see African Americans doing DNA testing. The genetic line testing offered by a company like African Ancestry is really good, because it focuses directly on the direct maternal and paternal ethnic groups.

After learning my maternal and paternal genetic lines are Mande (Mende and Bissa) it helped me to focus a lot directly on Sierra Leone, Ghana and Burkina Faso; and the Empires of Ghana, Mali and Songhay, which are the empires of the Mande. So knowing ones roots is incredible and I can see the things that were passed down from those groups to African Americans (Blues, banjo, etc.). So there ain't nobody anywhere telling me shyt about me, because I know who my folks were and where they were from.

Also I asked a Chinese American guy once how Asians fee about these things and he said “people in China or from China operate as if they are going to get fukked over”, and it is “apart of life” more or less, which is why they are underrepresented in the fight for “equality” in America.

Eastern philosophy and stoic type mindset. I don’t mean this in a disrespectful way but Asians tend to have that go along to get along mentality. And they’re really about means to an end, that’s why you can find Chinese people that own stores in any country on the planet, hoods, suburbs, wherever. They mind their business, stick with their people and get their money.

Every minority in America deals with systematic racism though. They might not get it to the extent that black folks do, but it’s still there
