Fast forward to today. When you holler at a sister, do you sound sorta like that, or do you suppose to sound like Greg Brady or Wally Cleaver. How do you sound these days. I got my money on Carlton Banks.

A lot of cats my age and older still talk like that, but I think once the crack epidemic hit, it took a lot of the culture and more importantly the educational system went down in tandem with it once it became a multiple choice test based cirricullum.

Preciate it... To answer your question - technology and modes of communication increased brevity and formalization across the board in my opinion.

Just like cursive is too varied and complex for today's society based on speed and ease of visual translation into other media.

I think that early orators such as Malcolm and Medgar were deliberate, sharp and way more eloquent than any white man of the time...hence how they resonated with all the world.

That's why white people were so scared to give us books and learn letters once we learned it, we could carry it like kings.

Because he was already hip to the games cacs play.

The game is always divide and conquer, and he set them straight real quick.

“Didn’t you hear what I said? :gucci:

(After the other breh was already asked, and answered the same question)

We are one.”

:mjcry:

I thought the interviewer sounded like a black man. He didn't come across like he was playing games to me.

Regional accents are still alive man. :usure:

whenever I’m out of town people can hear my dc accent. I know a brotha from Houston who got that country twang. Just recently met some brothas from Chicago who definitely had a chi town accent. B-more, philly, the bay, La, atl, New Orleans damn near every major are where there’s black people have a distinct sound and culture. Man we some beautiful people:mjcry:

Southern brehs and mid west black folks still have that cadence heavy.

Sounds like northern brehs have been white washed

Not at all. A good portion of our grandparents (depending on how old you are) came from the South & some of us were raised by them. Out of my 4 grandparents 3 were born & raised in the south
