How come Drake has never signed any Mc's/rappers to that tent camp of a label?

If you were Drake, would you? If you’re the top rapper in the game sales wise, why not diversify like he has and have different acts that bring in different audiences while you stay dominating the rap side. I bet once he starts seeing a big slip he’ll look at bringing in some new acts.

Drake is the label. Nobody he signs will reach that level he’s on. He wants that spot first off.

Drake wants no type of competition and that includes the nikkas apart of OVO. Also, he signs rappers that he can just leech off of and have them working in the OVO sweatshops. Drake cares about being as relevant as possible, he doesn't care about finding a successor

Because history says rappers signing other rappers has never really been successful. Master P and Wayne are the only examples I can think of where they signed rappers who had success outside of one album. I would say 50, but Banks, Yayo, and Buck only really had one album a piece that was successful or semi successful whereas Wayne had Drake and Nicki and P had Mystikal and Silkk.

Rapper labels are just writing camps anyway

Its actually a good question. He was going to put on OB for a second, but that would have just been the typical rapper putting his mediocre friends on situation (Bravehearts, Spliff Star etc).

I'm not 100% buying the explanations either. No rapper could get bigger than Drake on his own label (at least nobody with a similar style) and he doesn't have to only sign artists from Toronto. Lots of rappers have outshone him on tracks as well. Being associated with some stronger lyrical rappers would only help his career imo.
