How come gamers are not placing scrutiny and criticism on the 2K franchise like COD, AC, etc?

I'm sorry but this needs to happen. Each edition this game gets more fundamentally flawed. 2K 14 is the absolute worse. Engine is outdated and needs an overhaul. Game is overrun by animations where it literally feels like you have not control over anything(one thing Live always had over 2K) The game purposefully dumbing down your A.I. teammates for "balance reasons" is the straw the may break the back. I mean look at this clip


I'm controlling Derrick Rose on defense. Look at Dunleavy and what he does. shyt like this happens every game and its fukking maddening. This is in addition to the fukked up rebounding, defenders still being on skates, the recovery time of the CPU( you block a shot and the CPU automatically gets the ball back and scores while you are stumbling around or your whole teams convergers on an offensive player driving the lane but he gets the rebound out of four of you players and gets the putback). And also online. They took away lobbies so you are forced to play with cheesers all day with dumbed down default difficulty. If we are going to criticize COD for being stale and unispiring with lots of problems, then lets do the same for 2K.

breh, we have. i've been shytting on defensive AI for quite a while. since teh game has no "real" competition, it's like they refuse to fix shyt year after year. Mycareer is so damn frustrating, omfg.
Also, since 2012, its been getting increasingly worse. And I'll be damned if the 2k sports servers aren't down @ the most random times.

People do shyt on those games, the only reason you hear about BF so much is because it's problems were stopping people from actually being able to play or play without much issues. These issues you talk of are discussed on the threads for those games.

2K dropped the ball on this one NBA is so broke I don't even bother playing it...then they want you to use your money to do simple shyt like change your lineup. Honestly they need some competition...shyt doesn't even have an online dynasty league and you can't make it thru franchise...shyt one franchise I had melo signed with Utah and Lebron signed with Orlando and I was the heat.

visit operationsports forums...2k has been getting flack about these issues for years....although it hasn't been more mainstream the complaints are still there. I rarely play 2k online because of the cheesers...but i'm disgusted by the lack of lobbies...I remember seeing the sim lobbies and enjoyed playing a game or two. I also don't like how they completely overhauled association mode when all it needed were a few tweaks to bring it to perfection. Also, there is a slight delay from the controller to the game...it's noticeable when doing crossovers.

That clip is one of the issues plaguing the game because of the new point of emphasis system. I'm not a fan of it because it limits how detailed you can be on defense. Before you could tell Dunleavy to play his man in multiple ways (sag, tight, etc) now to play him up close you have to choose play physical, but this makes the entire team play their man close and if you want him to sag you have to put it to protect the paint and dunleavy (and the rest of your team) will leave his man every time someone drives (which is what he was doing in the clip)....shyt is stupid, what if I want to protect the pain but have Dun Dun stick to his man like glue? not in 2k14..

Yeah... after about 2K8 and 9 I stopped caring about these games like that.

The thing that I don't like is that in order for the game to be fun for me... I have to be playing someone who's down for playing it like a simulation game. I get angry playing the game against people who cheese and don't play with their teams like they play in real life.

It's also really difficult to defend in the game. 2K8 was better even with the lock on D feature because it forced people to actually run plays and use ball movement. In the newer games, all you need is somebody with a tight handle and it feels like your defender will never have any kind of traction to simply staying anywhere close to them, let alone keeping them infront of you.

It looks pretty though.

I don't think "gamers" really play sports games like that. Just my opinion though. For over a decade, all I played was sports games. But never did I consider myself a gamer. I know lots of dudes who are the same way, sports only.

controller input is one of my pet peeves in gaming. I'm paranoid to an extent when it comes to shyt like this...I need every button press to instantly deliver an action on my screen. It's why I play almost every game with a wired controller (shooters 100% of the time) or in the X1's case I use the usb cable from the charge kit (which makes the controller 100% wired). I fukkin hate that lil delay in 2k14...it makes no sense to me why that is there because it's obviously done on purpose, they couldn't have missed in it testing. Thje delay fukks with defense a lot. I feel bad for nikkas who spend the majority of time playing online with the input delay + lag...

I stopped fukking with sports games completely since like 2005. Madden trash ... Live trash ... Espn .. one game .. outdated at this point ... 2k trash .. smh. i played 2k for the first time in like 07 or 08 looking at my controller like and everyone thought i was crazy...

Man sports games just be lacking .. i cant talk tho ive never tried fifa or none of that but i like football and basketball .we can't get a decent football or basketball game to save the human race out here.

my nikkas...stop using default rosters. I'm using custom rosters that prevent stupid trades and players going to the wrong teams in the off season as well as providing much better gameplay. If yall don't mind starting from scratch and playing a more realistic 2k14 then check these out
