Black people in general are quicker to support shyt that is established and mainstream and white then support/build their own.
This makes sense. But do you think that the talent gap in college is really so wide that an HBCU just can't compete with a place like kentucky, even if its just for a year. I mean all it takes is one player right?
A lot of those schools are terrible at recruiting. HBCU can have the ability to recruit decent basketball players unlike college football where they have no chance at getting decent players.
No what, I take that back about not being able to recruit decent players in football. Schools like Texas Southern and Prairie View could be really good, but they don't make the effort to really recruit in Texas. There are so many above average football players in Texas that don't get a scholarship at all. TSU and PV could stock their roster with these players if they made the effort.
Let's say you put Anthony Davis at an HBCU for example, he by himself is not gonna be able to overcome the 5 or 6 blue chippers that Kentucky and UNC and other top programs can roll out there.
What about college Shaq or Kareem.

why would they go to a school with most likely a subpar coach and competition? if a HBCU was in a major conference and had major money they'd be able to make noise but they don't so they cant.
