What about college Shaq or Kareem.

Still no. Shaq was on the same team as Maqmoud Abdul Raouf (sp) and Stanley Roberts and never even made the Sweet 16. So you put Shaq out there with a bunch of rejects against a bunch of NBA feeders schools (UNC, UNLV, Michigan, Duke) and he'd certainly have no shot. As great as Kareem was the UCLA teams he played on were stacked. I don't see him by himself making a team of average to subpar players competitive.

The local HBCU down here has had significant upgrades to it's athletic facilites and it has a shytty athletic department outside of Baseball
Hell Alabama State is building a brand new 26,000 football stadium which will be one of the nicer ones in FCS football
So yes while HBCU's won't usually ever be on the level of the PWI's athletic departments, they can still have fairly nice facilities in my book

Funding. That simple.

And sports aren't even a priority for these schools anyway. Howard doesn't need their basketball team to be good.

Black people in general are quicker to support shyt that is established and mainstream and white then support/build their own.

real talk... if you had a chance to play for Texas... would you honestly play at Prairie View A&M ?

it's 2012, nikkas can get into any school they want... they aren't restricted to HBCU's anymore.

Let's keep in mind that HBCU's are not independently "BLACK/MOOR/BLACK Diaspora-CONTROLLED" in their creations, Funding, or anything else than POPULATED by a bunch of Black people.

Look at the HISTORY of an HBCU. Do you know who Spelman was named after, and who this woman was married to? :whoo:

Do your research. At many of these Universities, if they were so Pan-African and Pro-Black they'd offer courses in AT LEAST ONE of the HUNDREDS of African dialects. They don't, so let's keep it 100% before we call these American Black young men and woman c00nS for taking their commodities/talents to a school that CAN SUPPORT THEM! :youngsabo:

All true. But I'm surprised more good athletes don't slip through the cracks and beast at HBCU's...usually a great athlete only ends up at an HBCU after's he washed out of a bigger school and fukked up his eligibility...

No player is gonna go to a school with an inferior coach, facilities, exposure and teammates in the hope that he's going to start some new wave.
