I'm like that with Sports games. I'm a sports head, but I can't get into the games. I keep a few around for when I got people over but that's about it.

I play games to bug out and take a a break from reality. If I wanna play ball I go to the gym or the park.

:comeon: nikka RGIII is in Madden 13

sports games are fun cause I'm a nikka who likes watching sports thus playing the video game is like playing the sport in real life

:beli: No... it's not.

newest versions are necessary cause I want my rosters to be as up to date as possible.....nikka don't play Madden to play football......nikkas play Madden to play with the Giants against the Patriots.....if you follow the actual NFL then its necessary to have the most up to date game

:heh: The point is why shell out $60 every year for the same product? Companies could easy patch rosters in a sports title, and only release a new title when some major graphical or technical improvement is found. You're getting suckered out of more money than is necessary, honestly.

Don't get me wrong, I like sports games too. I played in college, and like NCAA/Madden as much as the next cat ... but I don't limit myself to only that. I get bored with doing the same thing over and over. After a while, it becomes such second nature, that it's not even stimulating anymore.

Give me something new ... something where I have to use my brain. Give me something like Fallout where I have to consider the moral implications of killing or stealing to survive a nuclear apocalypse. Give me a game like Mass Effect, where I have to deal with the political ramifications of genociding an entire alien species. If finding non-sports titles interesting makes me a cac/nerd/c00n/oreo, then so be it. If you can play the same thing over and over with slightly different avatars, then frankly I question your brain activity.

I can't relate to this at all.

There's a lot of trash out there, but if you can't enjoy those top tier games ... then I don't know what to say. Did you not like the best movies of the past year either? I mean, that's essentially what these games are really... interactive movies. If you can't enjoy a great story where you control the action, maybe you should give it up. Explain this to me: How do yall nikkas play basically the SAME sports game, year after year? Madden '13 is not much more than a roster update to Madden '12 as far as graphics and gameplay is concerned. Now that's really boring to me.

If you think this you must not play online or vs. good people

the game drastically changes strategy wise and feel wise from year to year

different animations playbooks best defense to run best offense to run

its all totally different each year

I'll give you that. I play mostly local games against friends, rather than online. With lag issues, nikkas disconnecting when they lose, cheesin and all types of other fukkery, I've learned to avoid going online for sports games for the most part.

And yeah, EA and 2k will make some small changes... but we're still talking about football & basketball right. I mean, sure, the presentation in Madden '13 and the way the game feels is slightly different than '12, but we're still playing football. X is to hike it, you got the juke stick/truck stick or 5/6 icons you can throw to. The core of the gameplay in this franchise has been about the same throughout this gen. After 8 or 9 years, I'd need something different to keep my attention.

I bugged out with online Madden the first three years online ('03, '04, and '05) and then I dropped it cold turkey. I tried to get back into this year and it just seems like things are spread to thin. Playing in the online lobbies is a joke, they virtually removed most of the stuff I used to enjoy (mini games for practice), and all the people I used to play with have f'n disappeared (I played a lot of Maddenmania dudes) :Carver:. If I don't have a solid community to enjoy sports games with then its kind of a toss up for me.

Don't need that for dork games though. :salute:

Nation Of Fun
The last game I got through that wasn't a sports game was Sleeping Dogs and that's because it was an easy game that wasn't too intricate so I could hop in and out of the game easy. It's hard for me to find games outside of sports titles that I could play for more than an hour at a time. I tried getting into Dishonored but the couple times I've played it I haven't had that much fun with it.

I did fukks with the Mass Effect trilogy though and put a lot of hours into those 3 games but other than that and GTA, sports games are the only games that I can play regularly and not get bored :manny:

I mostly play madden/ncaa/2k, add in a shooter, and I ended mass effect games, but most games I have interest in take to long, and I end up taking a break from the game and go on a sports game binge, and then when I come back to it I forgot what was going on in the story (fallout), its still gsmes that hold my attention tho, but for the most part all I need is madden/ncaa/2k and shooter, and I like listening music, I always have my headphones on when so its hard to play like that

And computer ai just not cutting it for me anymore, I need human competition for the most part, a nd in madden even if u playing somebody who doing fukkery if u good enough u can still win, I play straight real football, but my stick skills is just great

well, for me I mostly play sports games

only non sports games i've had has been Lost & Arkham City and I play Black Ops online

Once i finish a game story mode I really dont see whats left in those adventure games so they get left collecting dust. Sports games I can play them all around because I love the sports

I dont care about platinum trophies either

Yeah I'm the same way these days. Games that I was told were pretty dope like Skyrim and LA Noire I couldn't get through them. Not that they were bad. Its just I didn't feel like going through all the mission and side mission that have with most games now. Just not enough pay off at the end.

It may also be because I don't have the same time to play games I used to. If I'm lucky I can probably get a 2 hour black in and I rather crush one of my potnas on NBA2k13 or buss some heads on COD.

The last game I think I went all the way through and completed was God of War II

I just don't think there are enough unique games out there. Kinda like Portal 2or Heavy Rain, They may not be great games but at least they are different
