I have to go over this with dumb ass bestie. Its not hard to play that role. You can play it, I can play it, most young black people can play it. Now when you start to play the dude from Hell raiser or James Bond, or The last survivor of an ancient civilization, that's when you know if you can act or not. I hated that everyone loved Denzel in training Day, dude played a slave, a one armed psychotic cop out for revenge. An angel etc..what makes that worthy of critical acclaim.
Not everyone can play Alonzo like Denzel did

Actually I agree. you are correct. BUT. If anybody could play him Denzel could. Outside of that most major Black film "gangsters" any black dude could play.
