The thing for me on this narrow issue is people acting like black people need extra babysitting. Influence on kids should be primarily the parents issue. Let politcians get involved and fundamental rights (freedom of speech) start getting violated in a discriminatory manner.

Kinda backward to fight for all the rights and guarantees afforded to everyone without discrimination, then turn around and say, hey black kids you are too influential so we are gonna ban you from expressing yourself :ye:

She was right.

But people rather be entertained than to be told a bitter truth.

2Pac should've listened to her instead of Suge.

It does not work like that, especially today. In a society where mass media reign supreme, the average kid is being raised both by his parents and by the cultural environment aka entertainment industry.

Above the fray.
Everything she said was facts and most people were telling her to suck a dikk.

Even today, if she was talking like this, most of you would call her a "militant".:mjpls:

What C. Deores Tucker and Rev. Calvin Butts were saying at the time was true.
The younger people, myself included, just wanted to hear our favorite rappers release new songs.
Some of the adults at the tme who didn't get behind them might have questioned their motives/intentions. Some thought that Tucker and Butts were grandstanding and trying to shake down these corporations for a payoff behind closed doors.

What they were right about was the mutli national corporations cosigning and giving platforms for Black people to disrespect other Black people.

Because she was a hypocrite and exploited black people in LA as a slumlord with high rent poor conditions

She actually sat down with Suge and Jimmy Iovine to have a compromise in which they would FUND a record label she was to run

She is a shakedown artist just like Al sharpton
