IT'S A GOOD WAY TO STUNT YOUR KID'S SOCIAL SKILLS AND MAKE SURE THEY STAY BRAINWASHED IN YOUR RELIGION, BROTHER!

ARE YOU, AS A PARENT, QUALIFIED TO TEACH ANY SUBJECT BESIDES YOUR OWN OCCUPATION, DUDE? DO YOU HAVE A DEGREE IN EDUCATION, MEAN GENE? ARE YOU AN EXPERT IN ANY NECESSARY FIELD SUCH AS MATH, LANGUAGE, OR SCIENCE, BROTHER?

NO, YOU'RE JUST A FUNDAMENTALIST WHO'S AFRAID TO LET YOUR KID HEAR IDEAS YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN, TOUGH GUY!
When did this become about religion?

Come with some sources for these cray' assumptions.

Most parents aren't certified teachers, so it stands to reason why some question the effectiveness of a homeschool education. But the Home School Legal Defense Association, an advocacy group in favor of homeschooling, reported in 2009 that homeschooled students averaged 37 percentile points higher on standardized tests than their public school counterparts.

EducationNews.org backs that up, saying that while students in traditional schools mark the 50th percentile on standardized tests, students who are “independently educated” score between the 65th and 89th percentile.

Any concerns expressed about the quality of education offered to the kids by their parents can surely be put to rest by the consistently high placement of homeschooled kids on standardized assessment exams. Data shows that those who are independently educated typically score between 65th and 89th percentile on such exams, while those attending traditional schools average on the 50th percentile. Furthermore, the achievement gaps, long plaguing school systems around the country, aren’t present in homeschooling environment. There’s no difference in achievement between sexes, income levels or race/ethnicity.

Can every parent do it? That's absurd. But, it isn't a horrible thought.

I laugh at everyone hyping private school.

I went to public and private school.

And let me tell you, we were BUCKWILD @ private school. It was a top private school here in NYC too:win:

Public school was much calmer and smoother for me.

I wouldn't home school my son.

I think kids need the diversity. I personally dont feel like sheilding your kid will help them. They need the experience. Especially that highchool experience. All bullshyt and shenanigans included.

It never feels good when people have to go to personal insults to prove a point, rather than actually provid

Yo, it seems like you were stuck in between a rock and a hard place

I'm definitely not advocating ever kid gets pulled out of public school (though I did post that the only excuse is being a single parent :guilty:)

I think it was because the people in my catholic school were all quiet , nerdy and soft . When i got to the public school it was the contrary , loud , aggressive , rude etc . So it kinda changed my perspective seeing how the other side of the city worked . It took a while for me to get used to .

I dont have anything against homeschooling...really you don't learn shyt in school until at least grade 10/grade 11 that a parent with above average intelligence can't teach u. Lol @ thinking that teaching math or english to a grade schooler is some advanced level shyt. As for social interactions....a lot of my friends growing up were just people from the same hood/block I grew up in not necessarily classmates :yeshrug:. Once u get to high school you meet a bigger variety of people but just cause ur homeschooled doesn't mean u never see the light of day.

As for me I just don't see myself having time for all that shyt. I like my free time and sure as hell dont feel like spending it all home schooling my kids. Just beat that ass if they don't get A's and keep it moving like my parents did :pachaha:

Yup.

And breh let me tell you. I have friends that went to various private schools around the city. Same story. All types of fukkery and foolishness going on. I don't kno who the higher ups are, but they were able to keep shyt under the table. Thats why private schools aren't in the news as much as public for fukkery.

I'll probably send my son to both as well. Let him get a taste of both, see what he likes best.
