None of this address what I was asking about

Of course homeschooled kids are going to be more book smart. 1 on 1 interaction with the teacher all the time is better than 1 teacher and 20 kids

Again, do you know any home schooled kids?

It seems my little cousin always have something goin' on. Any time I hang with them, it's something they're apart of.

 Shout out to my aunt and cousin for inviting me to that fashion show she (my little cousin) designed stuff for...in Atlanta

How predictable is it that people who identify themselves as introverts want to homeschool their kids

Keep being afraid of the world :russ:

Is this about me?

I love my alone time (who doesn't), but, I much rather be around people.

Private school is bullshyt.

You paying all that money for something gets you no where.

A high degree is a high school degree

What does any if this have to do with homeschooling your kids?

everything

im asking people why they choose to work they whole life
the usual answer is to provide for they kids

i is the standard way that people claim to "provide" for their kids the most fulfilling and mentally stimulating for the kids as well as themselves

why peole are so dedicated to they worklife....its not living life at all unless you dsoin something you really love

Since when did home-school = never got outside?

From what I understand; my cousins don't sit in the living room for 8 hours every weekday and get lectured.

My aunt teaches them the material and they have to pass test. If anything, they have more time for socializing.

The only time ya'll interacted with kids was inside a school?

Easy..you're fukin retarded:dead:

Care to elaborate, breh-ski?

I got homeschooled and it was cool at first . You know ?
Staying home , eating when ever i want , cheating .

But that chit messed me up as a teen , it came to the point where i was afraid of being around other humans . I didn't leave my house in over 2 years , but yeah it can make your child socially awkward .

Your parents never had you involved in ANYthing?

That doesn't sound like homeschooling was the problem. If you don't mind me asking? Why were you homeschooled?

I'm sure they did, but this is not organic as the up and downs of interacting with different human beings on a daily basis without that halo of your parents.

IT'S A GOOD WAY TO STUNT YOUR KID'S SOCIAL SKILLS AND MAKE SURE THEY STAY BRAINWASHED IN YOUR RELIGION, BROTHER!

ARE YOU, AS A PARENT, QUALIFIED TO TEACH ANY SUBJECT BESIDES YOUR OWN OCCUPATION, DUDE? DO YOU HAVE A DEGREE IN EDUCATION, MEAN GENE? ARE YOU AN EXPERT IN ANY NECESSARY FIELD SUCH AS MATH, LANGUAGE, OR SCIENCE, BROTHER?

NO, YOU'RE JUST A FUNDAMENTALIST WHO'S AFRAID TO LET YOUR KID HEAR IDEAS YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN, TOUGH GUY!

Again, you're tellin' me you only hung out with only kids from your school and only during school hours?

I went to an out of zone school (about 8 miles from my house) and had to interact with the neighborhood and surrounding area kids. I got super social after I got a job...with more kids who didn't go to my high school?

You, and the ppl on your side, still don't have a concrete argument against home schooling...

...well, outside of the stereotype all homeschooled kids are creepy and the school environment is, some how, organic.

You talk as if their are no cons for public school (you don't seem to like private schools) and no pros for homeschool and there's evidence for both. I would go deeper, but, you've provided nothing to back your position.

Growing up my parents put me in catholic school to keep me away from trouble AKA hood niqqas . After middle school i had to stop because the tuition kept getting higher , so i had to go to a public high school .

There was too many fights going on in the school and the teachers weren't teaching anything important . People just came to school start trouble and fight. So my mom gave me the opportunity to transfer and that's when i thought about homeschool .

Like i said above , i thought the whole idea was cool .
Completing as much work as want when i want , going outside anytime of the day , eating what ever i want etc .

After finishing everything , chit was boring .
I didn't have much friends (remember i only went to school for my freshmen year) . I didn't have a social circle , so there was no hoez i could hit up to smash . It was as if my soul died or something .

I could've been outside exercising / doing a sport this whole time , instead i was home on the computer all day beating off .

Idk , i felt like a turtle . I didn't leave the house for over two years , i was scared of the world .

cuz it creates socially inept people
I was hoping to see this reply in this thread.

People don't understand the possible impact of home schooling. Kids barely go outside as it is these days...you want to FURTHER limit interaction with other kids of the same age?

What is the kid going to be when he first gets to high school? Not many parents think about the long term impact :snoop:

Let me respond to these extremes, with other extremes:

Your kids prolly won't have friends at school and be tortured for it...

Same thing with a 9 to 5, but, most people hate their job and the people in it...

Yes, because, all the cool kids made it real well after graduation

Sidebar: Dude, I need to go in more threads you post in. I've never seen a person I disagree with more, so often. It's all love, though  I need to have my views challenged.

 Wait, parent's don't have time to teach their kids, but, they have time to teach them, then, undo the stuff their learning?

---

Okay, this is a classic case of the "Fear of the Boogeyman." I'm sure most of ya'll don't even know any homeschooled kids. My aunt homeschools all three of my cousins. All of them are involved in their church (and I mean involved, a lot) and other "social" activity. They definitely enjoy it, too. They are way more socially developed than I was, at their age (8, 10, 16--that's about their ages) and I went to public schools.

Ya'll must live in a fantasy land where inadequate education isn't a problem. As a developed nation and supposed super power, USA has a horrible education infrastructure in relation to it's "Most Powerful Nation" title.

These are our future children, we're talking about; let's not go on "feelings." Let's research.

And don't talk about children's social interaction in school.

High school has the most toxic type of socialization; based on vapid pursuits like looks, clothes, who you're dating/sex, teams you play for, who your clique, etc. It isn't exactly healthy. And like I said; most ppl don't like the people at their job and they aren't they're parents.

And it get a bit deeper; all American public school do is, teach you to be a capitalist consumer. They teach us; college debt, then a 9-5 (that won't yield enough to pay that debt) is the only way to survive.

Not to mention the horrible nutrition. If my parents knew I ate 80% real (that couldn't have been real meat) sausage biscuits and honey buns for breakfast, everyday.

I definitely believe it should be looked into. The only excuse would be a single parent who can't find a job working from home. And that's makes family planning a bigger deal.

LOL @ socializing in school. School is for learning. What happens when you try to socialize in class? You get written up, punished, and otherwise harassed by your teachers. Your only socializing opportunities are maybe during lunch, and after hours.

Most of the arguments here against home-school are based in the homeschooling methods that are used by radical Christians, keeping their kids in the home and away from things, and basing those attacks on the whole idea of homeschooling when there are many methods out there. Some which include having multiple outside teachers for the kid, which are not the parents.

sidenote, I really like the method that Carolina Slim talks about and is the type of thing I'd consider if I was able.

It never feels good when people have to go to personal insults to prove a point, rather than actually provid

Yo, it seems like you were stuck in between a rock and a hard place

I'm definitely not advocating ever kid gets pulled out of public school (though I did post that the only excuse is being a single parent :guilty:)
