I've always wondered this, but how exactly is a new term carving out our identity?
We already have an identity
But because we don't have a word for it
It's not really embraced

"Black" used to be it, because I've heard Africans irl say I'm not Black, I'm African
But ever since the Black culture boom
Now every body else is on it

We never really fukked with African American

I understand ppl being mad at ADOS and FBA because of people championing it like Tariq

But we deserve to have our identity, and a name for it

But we are so fukked right now because of Black ppls collective self esteem in America is fukkrd because of Slavery and Jim Crow, and that's also where most of our other issues come from

I wasn't even thinking about Tariq Nasheed. Him aside the whole thing is confusing to me, even with the explanation. There's definitely problems worth addressing, but I've never known us to not embrace who we are. I was just curious though so thanks for answering.

Ppl know
Like I hear regular ppl speak on how Africans think they're better than us
But if we truly embraced who we are I don't think we'd be so cool with other races using the n word
