Neither one of them have been catalysts for the betterment of minorities for a very long time. They have both used their role in the civil rights movement for personal gain and take every advantage they can to capitalize on race driven outcomes for their own well being. They always want to be front and center when the cameras are around but I do not see them having any solution based conversations or ideas. They just admire the problems and bask for the fame.

fuk em both

The Black Star
The same way Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Marcus Garvey, Fred Hampton, Fannie Lou Hammer, Asa Phillip Randolph, Medgar Evers, etc did

generally speaking we don't have black "leaders" as the word is typically used (MLK, Malcolm X etc) for a variety of reasons:

1. no great social movement to rally around - there are some issues (economic justice/criminal justice) that motivate many, but enough black people feel sufficiently removed from those worlds that they don't feel the need to participate

2. the "older" generation never cultivated a newer generation of leaders. they instead are more interested in maintaining their positions. one of the ways they do this is by essentially strong arming white folks/corporations into supporting them personally.

3. the personal failings of the jackson/sharpton are put up for everyone to see. whereas in the past, people like MLK had their personal indiscretions essentially covered up or ignored

just a few reasons IMHO

Number 1 should be: Because they assassinated them.

And who wants to become a leader so you can get stalked by the US government and maybe assassinated? It's essentially oppression by another means.

They were successful at mobilizing black folks.

The best way to limit their influence was to run a negative campaign against them or catch them. In a scandal.

This shyt isn't rocket science and you're clearly trolling as usual. 1 star.

:beli:No Niggga I wasn't trolling. I just want some clarity as to why whites disliked them so. Thanks by the way?
