Honestly, they grinded.

French Montana, as average as he is as a rapper, worked very hard to make his connections. He was hitting the streets interviewing people, talking to people, selling his dvds. Pure hustle. That's why while I don't like all his music, I respect him.

Khaled did the same thing, he worked hard in Miami to make connections when everyone flocked down there for a bit. He went from Fat Joe and Akon to getting paid by Snapchat...you have to salute his annoying ass for his hard work.

I can respect this answer but neither of them has really sold much of anything to justify the amount of burn that they get. Does Khaled even produce

again...what EXACTLY does he do...THOUSANDS of DJ's spin records everyday b. This dude has released about 5 albums full of the biggest stars in the industry where he didn't even PRODUCE or RAP on any damn track. How does a DJ end up in this position. Hell how come DJ Drama isn't even in this position????

Drama is though. He just more low key. Kay Slay...Funk Flex Clue..Whoo Kid...same difference..Khalid just had hits and was smart enough to brand his music..
