Just look at Karl Malone. Dude is 2nd all time in scoring but he is not talked about with the rest of the greats because he does not have a ring. Dude is not even considered top 25 player of all time. Hell Dirk will be consider better than Malone because of that ring factor. Is it fair? Nope but that's just the way it is.

Because Stockton and Dirk would have won rings.

fukk Karl Malone

Marino is still in alot of peoples top 3 because he was that good.

Marino did this 30 years before all these NFL rule changes made it easy for quarterbacks and WRs.

When Marino hit 5084 yards in 1984, he was the only one to throw for that many yards...ever.

Since 2008, 5k yards has been done 7 times.
In fact, of the top THIRTY passing yard seasons of all-time 23 of them have all occurred in the last 11 years.

This is why I don't take this era seriously. And it's also why I take players like Brady and Peyton down a peg when talking about all-time greatness.

As I say, Marino best pure passer I've ever seen.

To be honest, I see a whole lot more Elway than I do Marino in folks top 3s. Marino is forgotten cuz he didn't win. But he should be in everyone's top 3.

Its really not. When I hear about GOAT QBs, I hear about Montana, Farve, Brady, Peyton, Elway, Starbach before Marino. As goes for Warren Moon. If he won one ring, he would've been up there with Montana.

From a pure talent stand point, Marino is top 3 easily. fukk rings breh, that shyt is a team accomplishment. Media has everyone brain washed about fukking rings and QB's. You think Brady has 4 rings playing on the Jags or Browns? fukk no. Look at the Dolphins without Marino, they aint shyt and havent been since he left.

Marion was a monster and his 86 season was just under that the 84 season with him throwing for 44 td's and just under 5000 yards. If he played in this era their is no doubt that he would have all the records and it probably wouldn't even be close.

yup to me its the biggest rivalry in the division for sure.

And considering its jets week(dolphins week for you).....this is a good time to bring it.

However, this may be the first time in forever that I actually want the Jets to win. I hope the Dolphins lose out. I'm so sick of the status quo with this team...we need more big changes. More High draft picks, and some more positive change.

Getting rid of Philbin and Coyle was a great start...but Campbell isn't the answer.
The best meaningless game I am forced to watch.

That's not. Jay Fiedler held them over but wasn't a Marino.

:ehh:

Growing up with Marino...and then having to go through what we have gone through the last decade plus has just destroyed me as a dolphin fan.
Now imagine coming in as a Dolphins fans in the end of the Marino era with the like of Jay Fielder, A.J. Feely, the ghost of Dante Culpepper when we could have had Drew Brees, Chad penningto, and when Phins fans thought Chad henne had next :heh:

I hated that Dante Culpepper move. Dude was the most overrated QB int he world that got heralded because of his HOF receivers and that offense :wow:

Don't forget Saban bruh..... :scust:

Its sad that Waanstedt was the best coach we've had since Shula(or maybe JJ) and he hasn't even sniffed another head coaching job since(in the NFL)

I just looked it up...he's a special teams coach for Tampa now.

Marino was the true originator of "Flick of da wrist"....one simple flick would produce a deadly accurate 50 yard spiral. He made it look so effortless:wow:
