The media. At this point, most social change occurs through entertainment. The powers that be, the ones with the money, introduce an idea into entertainment outlets and repeat it over and over again until it catches on and is the new norm.

If you don’t think the media is endocrinating you into taking particular positions, it is working.

Look at operation mockingbird. The government (CIA, etc.), has the major media platforms on their budget. It’s all planned, focus grouped, and highly effective

Not that I think they have risen to some sort of powerful group, they're just vocal and plenty of gays are still white, white men specifically, ones who are powerful, sexual orientation aside.

It's like Chappelle said, If it was just black folks trying to get over on the trans whatever nobody would care. But since it's that group also includes white men, they're going to use that inherent status to bring light to whatever it is they feel they need to. If there weren't a significant white male base within that group, they'd be dead in the water.

There are paraells between racism, sexism and even homophobia but there can never be a 1:1 comparison so looking around pouting talmbout how come we can't do what teh gays are doing is missing the point.
