A trend that I began to notice is that we are not really in control of who is elected for the POTUS at the end of the day.
I believe we have some control over the local elections but thats about it
With that said a narrative of
Left vs Right Red vs Blue Dems vs Reps
Competition is consistent in all aspects of American society laced in the fabric of our DNA like the stitching in our favorite players sports jersey .....

What the hell has Hillary Clinton done for the plight of indigenous people?

The question was, how did she become so hated.

She was one of the most popular democrats in 2015.

Suggesting that's how she became unpopular in 2016 feels like stretch. Unless I'm missing something.

Interesting that progressives are saying they dislike her over how she treated Obama. :mjlol:

I'd imagine the overuse of the term DNC suggests I nailed it with point one. :umad:
Your antics are tired.

Less tiring then trying to call someone a DNC stan because they didn't vote with Bernie in the primary.

You're a teacher. You should be able to discern the difference between how did and why is.
I didn't vote for Bernie. To you, anyone who dares criticizes Hillary is an alt right Nazi or a Bernie bro, and you make sure to establish that in every thread like it's your job.

I stopped liking Hillary when she painted Obama as a terrorist. I still voted for her because of the alternatives, but can understand how reasonable people don't like her.

  • I dont have a problem with Bernie nor Bernie supporters
  • As I noted in this thread most Bernie supporters voted for Clinton
  • I've used the term Nazi twice on this forum and never as an accusation and never with regards to the election :mjlol:
  • I've only used the term alt right in discussions about white nationalism and making fun of @Uncle Hotep and the alt right ankh right alliance :mjlol:
  • When did Hillary accuse Obama of being a terrorists?
  • I generally disagree with your perspective because it's that of a middle aged white guy who likes to be around hip hop. :francis:

  • When did Hillary accuse Obama of being a terrorists?

Not jumping into a personal squabble, but on this one I assume he means the drama over a picture that was used to portray Obama as a "secret Muslim" which her campaign denied releasing. Here's an article about it that notes Clinton facing some backlash over perceived tactics of her campaign.

Clinton aides claim Obama photo wasn't intended as a smear

At minimum, she came out of that primary with a significant chunk of the Dems thinking she played dirty which contributed to skepticism about her next campaign (and not just from Bernie supporters, the first "rigging" allegations came from O'Malley over debate scheduling if I'm not mistaken). Even before any of that, there was a push to get Elizabeth Warren to challenge Hillary and that wasn't superficial hatred, just people wanting an alternative. Not saying it was a majority of the party or anything, but there was a vocal contingent.

Just to add in some personal perspective, I was all for Warren running at the time. She seemed like the furthest left politician with a strong enough following to potentially make noise (now it feels like most progressives side eye her heavy ironically but I see her as a solid bridge candidate). When she turned down running and Bernie stepped up, it originally seemed like just an opportunity to get some of the more progressive ideas in front of a broader audience. At that point we were a heavy minority though and the momentum Bernie would build up was hard to picture. We were around, there were a LOT less of us but I'd imagine heads into politics enough to post on forums about 'em have a higher likelihood to fall into the category like mine; people that were skeptical of Clinton and hoping for a bolder platform.

How liberal of you.
Isnt Hillary a senior white person who pretends to like hip hop but is really part of the atistocracy? That's better?

The fact is you dap the majority of my posts, but when I dare question you you instantly rely on this "haha you're white" defense.
  • Yes, I dap the majority of your post.
  • I dont always agree with your perspective, but I don't always think it's bad or coming from a bad place.
  • I enjoy reading your white male perspective on similar topics.
  • It wasn't mean to be an insult
  • The how and why line was. :lolbron:

I enjoyed her policy nuance and experience. I voted for her for those reasons.

I speak frequently on her personality flaws. A lot of her views come from a perspective I also don't agree with, but frankly she's just a vessel to get some things I viewed as beneficial to society.

Similar to how you'll hear some people speak on Trump - - hate his approach, but love the results. :manny:

And yes, the hot sauce in the bag or trying to do the wabble was corny as fukk. :mjlol:

Did you really claim this, and then just one comment later post a poll from August 2016 (you know, three months before november) showing that record numbers of people already hated her?

:sas1::sas2:

She had a 76% favorability rating among liberals in August 2016. :sas2:

I can speak from my own experience (I don't hate her, but I don't find her likable and I wouldn't vote for her). And I know a lot of people that have followed a similar route.
That's fine. I didn't say you had to like her nor have I said you don't have valid reasons for preferring someone else.

2016 primary: Sanders comes along as someone who at least seems to have his heart in the right place. Whether or not he would have been a viable candidate is up for debate. But the way Clinton treated him was ruthless. Even Donna Brazille, former DNC chairwoman, has stated that Hillary Clinton had control of the DNC's “finances, strategy, and all the money raised” and she herself leaked debate questions to Clinton. Debbie Wasserman Schultz was not only in the tank for Hillary, but she worked out financial arraignments with the Clinton campaign without even notifying the other DNC officers. The DNC rigged debate times to favor Clinton, rigged fundraising systems to favor Clinton, even kept Sanders's delegates out of the Nevada convention. It WAS rigged, there is no doubt about that.

Donna Brazile’s bombshell about the DNC and Hillary Clinton, explained

You can talk all you want about "but it's okay for the DNC to rig elections." If you can't see how that would leave a bad taste in people's mouths, you're blind.

First, I'd like to point out that I don't have any issue with Candidates attacking each other and doing whatever it takes to win as long as it's legal. You can do what you'd like.

But your post pretty much hits on what I've been saying.
  • You already didn't like Clinton
  • You weren't going to vote for Clinton
  • You felt the DNC rigged the election for Clinton over Sanders
  • So now you Hate Clinton
Not going to rehash the conversation so I'll just post this to save us the back and forth on the favored vs rigged debate, but as I inferred earlier, you can find your outrage where you'd like. We can just disagree on whether I think it's reasonable or not.

2017: And when it's all over, does she accept responsibility? Of course not. She blames Sanders and his supporters, even though Sanders supporters voted for Clinton in FAR higher numbers than Clinton supporters had voted for Obama in 2008 (and that's even with a lot of Sanders supporters not having been Dems in the first place). She blames Russia, she blames the FBI, she blames men. What she can never do is accept that she herself had flaws, that SHE in part gave us Trump.

She should have taken more responsibility for her lost. And it's a reason why she continued to trend downward after her election. But she was also right on the 4 reason you want to disregard:

  • Russian Election Meddling
    • did happen
    • they have admitted they favored Trump over Clinton
    • multiple indictment have been handed out over this
  • The FBI
    • Comey's October Surprise
  • Men
    • Trump's sexism
    • most talk about Bill with regard to her is sexist (hence why we also disregard jane's dirt with Bernie)
    • Sexism is real. Read through this forum if you like proof.
  • Trump
    • I blame Trump voters first and foremost
    • I blame non voters
    • I blame Clinton for not addressing her flaws to attract
    • I blame third party/protest voters
    • I hate people who were willing to end up with Trump because they felt hating hillary was more important than validating Trumpism
