She had a 76% favorability rating among liberals in August 2016.
Which you realize is pretty bad for a party's nominee for president just before an election, right? Obama's favorability among liberals was 93% at that same time, and in fact it had never dropped as low as 76% at any point since in the last decade. So there were already a serious faction of liberals who were done with Clinton. Clinton's overall favorability dropped under 50% when the email scandal broke in summer 2015 and
never got above that level again.
Add in her losing, campaigning poorly while losing, then refusal to give it up and continuing to blame it on everyone else, and you can see how it dropped even lower afterwards.
But in August 2016, at 76% favorable among liberals and 40% overall, her image was already pretty bad.
