She had great chemistry with wesley in that flick...the scene where he was in her guts was when I first really looked at her like:leon:

Then she took the selena role, starred opposite George Clooney in a blockbuster movie then dropped an album full of pop shyt and wallah

Can't underestimate the importance of a fantastic agent.

Also her formula was flawless. She cornered the music market by being down with blacks and cornered the movie market by being down with Cacs. She fukked damn near every famous Cac on screen (Clooney, Fiennes, Mcconaughey, Affleck) and did music with every famous Hip Hop artist (Nas, Diddy, Ja-Rule, LL Cool J, Jadakiss)

Really her career should serve as an example for all racially ambiguous actresses/singers

At the very least she was great in Selena and has some ok songs..

Most overrated of all time is Britney Spears. That bytch couldn't sing or act a LICK and was the biggest pop star on the planet

Her acting actually is the best I've seen from a female singer. She isn't bad at all. I really liked her in Enough.

She got a lot of recognition for playing Selena right after Selena's death. She struck while the iron was hot and began her music career. She was pretty and came out with hits (most that she didn't even sing and that she stole from others usually black artists, but the pulic didn't know that at the time. Jlo can't sing for shxt, she knows it too.

She took her first in into the industry as a dancer on a popular show, then from that went into acting. I'm sure she fcked many industry people as well.

Every time I hear someone say she can't act, I always think they're saying it just to say it. & maybe b/c she was an actress and a singer and that is their sterotype. She was anctress first and got hired frequently way before she was known and her music came out, so yes she can act. She just can't sing.

yeah, but like others have said, hard work, LOOKS, selena movie and then bein' in a relationship with puffy put her career on the map

Yep. Not to mention her hit songs were sung and written by other people such as Ashanti on "I'm Real remix" and Christina Milian on "Play", Puff and Irv just blended their voices with J. Lo's to make her sound better.
