I loved the movie when I was younger and didn't understand it's overarching point. When I finally got it (as an adult), while I still like the movie, distaste manifested itself. Let me clarify my stance because I can see how it's coming off as baseless hate: the characters are fukking idiots to me. The movie makes sense, I've just grown disillusioned with the hood narrative over the years, particularly with the people that can't tell the difference between real life and entertainment (like the hoard of stupid muthafukkas I was just locked up with).
